    Argh I need help, I just installed sp5

    Alright, that problem happpened to me once when I was upgrading from NT to NT with SP3. I hope you made your emergency start up disk. If you use that in conjunction with your original NT CD it should be able to rectify the problem. I don't recall all the steps that I went through but it was pretty simple and was up running again with virtually no down time. Try it. I hope it works. ** Everything happened pretty much on its own. An old file was installed or a missing on and it started up again. **

    Aureal Vortex (A3D)

    I am assuming that since the Vortex 2 Chipset (the chipset in Monster Sound 300) is supported by NT4 then it should be supported by W2K. Other than that the orginal chipset isn't supported at present...I had emailed a Diamond rep. and he said there were no plans for it. So if your Vortex board maker does differently your out of luck I believe.

    Direct X 5.0 for NT 4.0

    Hey BlackMagic who you trying to kid...there ain't no directx 5.0 for NT!! I have checked. There is DirectPlay 6.1a for NT...it can be found at Microsoft's download center...The highest version so far is a pathetic 3 but atleast we have that...I'm off to download DirectPlay thats for sure....
