I followed the instructions and tried this several times. Your new, step by step instructions are great. That is exactly what I did. After I installed Liveware 3.0 from the CD and reboot, the creative programs show up in Task Manager -> Processes and are using 0 cpu but they do not show up in Task Manager -> programs and from the desktop do not appear to be running.

Are you getting EAX sound in games? Any problems in any games?

Problem fixed. I changed my desktop colors to 24 bit and when I exit glide games I do not get a black screen anymore. When I exit UT I do have a minimized UT on the task bar(?) which I have to close out and when I do I see a GPF message window which closes with no problem. If I open this minimized UT I get the black screen but I can still do an alt-cntl-del and end the UT task.

I doubled check my versions and that is exactly what they are. I went through the process outlined by A. Toste again and still end up with the same black screen problem upon exiting a glide game. I have a Voodoo 3.

When I exit out of a glide game (Unreal), using the new suggested glide/D3D fix, I get a black screen. alt-cntl-del does not respond and I have to reboot. This is with a Voodoo 3- 3000 card. Other than that glide and D3D works fine with these drivers but it is a major annoyance. I never had this problem with the other builds. Anyone have a possible fix? Unreal seems to work fine here on build 2128. One problem is that when I quit the game my screen gets really messed up, mostly black, and if I hit enough buttons on the keyboard some windows will pop up by they do not respond. alt-cntl-del does not respond so I have to reboot. When I quit Descent 3 this does not happen. I was using the glide driver for both games.

I did a clean install of RC2 and Voodoo 3 worked immediately with D3D using the MS included drivers. I am wating for an install for glide that is a little less involved. The built-in D3D works better than the previous hacked Banshee D3D. And the joystick control is much better and more precise with USB joysticks.

The final retail version for NT works fines for me. Installs with no problems.

What is the differences between the voodoo 3 inf and the icd inf posted 8/24 by A. Toste? When do you use the icd inf?

The usb sidewinder freestyle shows up in the Star Wars Racer control picks and does work.

I have the sidewinder freestyle pro usb and W2K recognizes it and all the features test out in test but there is no response from it in games. The sidewinder usb precision pro joystick works fine. This is in build 2072. One difference is that in device manager the precision pro name is listed. The freestyle gamepad is listed as an unknown device, but when I look at the drivers it lists the freestyle pro usb as the driver and in the testing properties it tests correctly.
