the other day i upgraded to outlook xp (i have office 2k installed) which came with my pocketpc. i know i didnt have to but i figured what the heck, the new one probably fixes some email security flaws and such. i ran the install, it did its thing and all my settings, email, folders, etc were already setup in outlook xp. cool! i check my email and everything dumps into my inbox. rules dont seem to work. somewhere (either during install or at this point, dont recall) it wants me to upgrade my rules. ok. basically, i have 7 different email accts and i had rules set that said "if received through the specified acct, move to folder x" i checked them out and some of the email addy's didnt match the folders. so i fixed them. email A goes to folder A email B goes to folder B etc click ok, send off a few test emails and folder A receives email A and B as does folder B. wtf? i check the rules, and magically, the second rule now reads email A goes to folder B. i fix, click ok, go back and check and its changed again. so i delete all my rules and create new ones like above. same damn problem. the rule changes itself after clicking ok. so i create different rules. "if sent to email A go to folder A" etc. now the rules only seem to work about 50% of the time. this is very annoying. what is wrong with outlook xp's rules?!? anyone else have the problem?

this file was installed when i installed the new creative labs live drivers (driver only, not liveware). it loads up with the computer and uses 2mb of system memory! i cant end the process in task manager either. and it seems that when windows loads the desktop, there is a long pause while i wait for the speaker icon to load. its quite annoying.

its your hardware, not win2k. namely the bp6. if you have the 1.1 rev of the bp6, there is a known power instablity problem. also keep in mind that w/ dual cpus, the bx chipset gets much hotter and it may actually be your mobo crashing. if u havent already apply some goop on the greenie and add a fan to it.

mr_yellow: i never said they should work over the weekend. read more carefully. i was just wondering why they didnt zip them up and post them when they got them back. if they still need to make an installer or something, i can understand that. its just the way the newsgroup post was worded. made it sound like they are done and ready to go. i guess as long as they are finished, thats all that matters. we've waited this long, whats another few days? now that they have the drivers back, why didnt they just post them yesterday? why wait until after the holiday weekend? its not like they are going to be working on them or anything over the next few days.

woohoo! i fixed my monitor problem! at the same time i did that 530 driver upgrade, i also disabled (in device manager) my hollywood+ so i could try out hibernate support. as u may know, the hollywood beta drivers remove hibernate. in anycase, hibernate doesnt work with the nvida drivers, but i never re-enabled my hollywood+. i enabled it just now, and my monitor now shows up in device manager as plug'n play and powersave works! even after a reboot! so perhaps your problem is related your dxr3 (hollywood+ in disguise).

this is doing it after a fresh install.... maybe its just a driver problem. hopefully new ones will be out soon.

i have the exact same prob with my sidewinder 3d prec pro. it fluctuates between ok and not connected. it too started after i swapped my mobo. i went from a be6 to bf6/promise ultra66. windows was reinstalled after a format too, but this prob cropped up. i also have an sb live. the only way i can fix it is to shut down the computer and let it sit for about 30 sec. then i turn it on and the stick works fine. reboots do nothing for me. i dont now how often the stick spazzes out since i dont use it often.

ok, i uninstalled the 530, rebooted and installed the 516. no reboot was needed after this so i didnt. went to device manager and the monitor was listed with an ! and it said no driver was installed. so installed the pnp monitor. again no reboot needed. i setup my resolution and refresh, everything is good. set monitor power down to 1min and waited. viola, monitor goes off. i restarted my computer to see if everything stayed the same. i turn the computer off at night, so it was going to be shut down eventually. anyway, after the reboot the monitor is gone from device manager and it no longer shuts off. i did the same reinstalling the 530 and it worked until a reboot; then the monitor is gone from device manager. and of course i cant manually add a monitor cuz the add hardware wizard lists every conceivable device to add except monitors. i tried rightclicking and installing the monitor.inf file but nothing happened. this pisses me off cuz i leave the computer on during the day and i like powersave to kick in when im away for a while. anyone have some thoughts? as a side note, i tried the uninstall hardware wizard and told it to show hidden devices. i had 4 instances of "standard monitor." i removed them all but it didnt help any. mine just started doing this. i updated my nvidia drivers (cl geforce ddr) from 5.16 to 5.30. after reboot, my monitor had an exclamation saying no drivers were installed so i let windows install its own and now my monitor doesnt show up in device manager like it used to (used showed up as plug n play monitor). it also doesnt go into powersave now. so i think its video driver related.

hmm, i tried enabling hibernate support, but when i actually try to hibernate, windows says my geforce drivers are causing problems or something. seeing how i never tried hibernating before (i felt like tinkering tonite: leaked drivers, hibernate, etc) do the previous versions allow hibernating, like the 5.16's i was using. i dont feel like swapping back to 516 only to find out that it still wont work and then put 530 back on.

i just installed them. was using 5.16. q3 went from 59.6 to 60.3. dunno bout d3d. i didnt test anything. no crashes since i installed them about 25 min ago
