    PS2Rate or USB?

I'd love to run Q3test in SMP mode under NT, but 1-win2k isn't gonna work with smp q3 (crashes). ? = Is there any Ps2rate program, or way to get my USB mouse working? the standard ps2 frequency is too low and those frames/sec I get are wasted on crappy mouse port polling. I need smoother graphics! Any suggestions (other than wait for win2k ?) ? Thanks!

    PS2Rate or USB?

Yup.. I found that on blue's the other day.. it works great!.. Q3 runs so smooth smp in nt 4. And I also heard Award has 3rd party USB software.. I can't seem to find pricing or availability info other than what's on their site.

    Ps2rate

Is there a PS2rate program for NT 4? I remember seeing in the readme for the win9x version that there might have been plans for a port. Anyone know? I could use a smoother mouse for quake in NT (is there any USB support in NT4?)

    Q3 and Win2k questions....

I got Q3 to work (r_smp 0) in win2k build 2091 (and 2072 a few weeks ago if you still run that old build). I have a Utnt2, and a BP6. Use the drivers on win2k.net if you want.. but the stock drivers in 2091 work fine.. so does the USB.. The SMP (r_smp 1) however, DOES NOT WORK ((

Quake 3 Arena Choppy unser NT4 -Help

choppy how? did you guys run a timedemo to see your fps? I have a similar problem - my FPS is fine, but the chunkiness is due to no USB mouse or no Ps2rate (no fast mouse port polling). If you know of a program for this, please post info. thanks

    NT 4.0, DX5 & Q3?

I have a similar hardware setup (just clocked to 550) and Quake 3 runs very fast; faster than it does in win9x. The only major drawback is the lack of USB support or ps2rate for a faster mouse port polling / smooth graphics. It's very chunky. I may be wrong - there may be ps2rate or a USB driver for NT 4 that I'm not aware of. Please correct me if so, so I don't have to wait for win2k, and I can junk win9x for good!

    NT and Q3 SMP fps?!

I ran Server 4.0, SP5, on my Abit BP6, 366 celerons @ 523 Mhz, and CL Ultra TNT2, and I saw an enormous improvement with SMP 1. I bought this system for the sole purpose of Quake 3. With r_smp 0 I get (in my detail settings) around 85-90 fps in the new demo 1. with r_smp 1 I get 110 fps. If I turn all the detail settings down as low as possible, I get 128 fps. TNT2 is NOT overclocked.

    quake 3 and win2k

I just installed Win2k Pro 5.00.2091 (build 2091) and I get the same results [grey screen when starting q3 in smp mode]. My setup is: Abit BP6 / Dual celeron 366s Creative Ultra TNT2 MX300 Is this confirmed to be a problem with Quake3? It does work in NT 4 no problem - But I can't find either USB support or PS2rate for NT4 so Nt4 wont do!
