Well, I had the same issues when I had my logitech mouse with the mousewheel. Then I got me that new MS intellimouse explorer(the optical one) DAMN! is it nice, usb and all, however it still, on less frequent occasions, does the same as all you guys are reporting. In Q3 arena and UT the buttons stick On and need to be tapped in order to stop. It's much better with the usb mouse than with the standard PS/2. When I had my PS/2 I did up the sample rate to 100 and the input buffer to 200 and that worked for a bit but then it went back to it's same ol stickign ways. I really wonder exactly what is the problem?

You won't see any difference in any except Q3(depending on video card and settings) due to the fact that most games don't support SMP. However you can say.... play UT or NFSHS or what not and listen to mp3's without an prob. Duel cpu's is much more helpful for apps such as photoshop and 3dsmax and multitasking.

Windows 2000 and Dual CPU's .... Is there a big difference ?

Exactly what troubles are you referring to? -
Hey Chameleon why is it you have NTFS for 98 on your site yet when you download and unpack it it's nothing more than FAT32 for NT?.....hmm?? Does this fall into the category of your *new and special* voodoo3 drivers you tried to pawn off on me a few months ago?
-
Try editing your q3 config file and look for the gamma setting in there and adjust it manually.

NO we wouldn't, name me the last time 3dfx came out with beta drivers for win98 or NT? 3dfx is like lots of companies, they put out their drivers when the product is finished so theres no last minute changes or headaches.

Does anyone here need another deamon to do this is the question. Dude most of us are just running a simple FTP on our home boxes. I don't need that kinda power. I stated that warFTP is superior however all we(I) need is a simple program that handles a max of 5(or more, not 5000) users. I can remote admin it through remotely anywhere. I have it but I haven't installed it. I was gonna clean the entire system when i get a day off and install millenium and RC3 from scratch. I think it would be a good thing to have more info here on it.

Install the ASPI 4.6 driver from adaptec's web site http://www.adaptec.com

You can do it either way. The clean install will give yo a much cleaner win2k as there will be no old code underneith it.

Actually in the voodoo3 files I have on my web site I have the latest 3dfx opengl driver included and renamed to 3dfxvgl.

SHS is right I didn't write them. The files you downlaoded are for RC2 and UP. It works fine however if you need instructions on how to resintall video drivers you really shouldn't be using win2k. Go to device manager select your video card and get the properties of it then select update driver. Choose from a lsit and then click have disk......point it to the folder where you unzipped the files from my page. Overright files if prompted.

Before posting please research a little in the previous message posts. This issue has been addressed countless times. Get the drivers from http://seldzar.dhs.org Note: be sure to adjsut the clock rate in the info for your V3 2000. [This message has been edited by Seldzar (edited 01 December 1999).]

HAHAHA!!!!! G6 FTP server. HAHA! Sorry, I used G6 once and yes it has lots of features and is really easy to setup. Hopwever I had to constantly reisntall it cause the damn thign was so buggy it wasn't funny. Not only that, even though I had given myself permissions in my account to access mny other drives it woudn't let me. However perhaps those issues have been fixed.

Don't know what your issue with serv-u is but it has NEVER crashed on me in win2k nor has it ever had a problem of any kind and it logs everything just fine. Not to mention the fact that it's ease of use and setup is by far more superior than WarFTP. Granted WarFTP is truely kick ass but when it takes me longer to learn the layout and functionality of a FTP server than it takes for me to completely setup servu then there is a problem. WarFTP is jsut too confusing and I know a thing or two about setting up an FTP. [This message has been edited by Seldzar (edited 29 November 1999).]

Like I said before, try ATGuard. It has an interactive learning option that will prompt you everytime you make a new connectino on a port with an application that hasn't got a firewall rule yet. For example. I install Atguard and then I open IE it will Pop up a screen saying Iexplorer.exe is trying to make an outbound tcp connection on port 80 to *.*.*.* address. At this point you can then walk though a wizard that will allow you to configure it to let Iexplorer connect on port 80 all the time to any address or you can block it.....or permit it jsut the one time. Now this will happen with all progies that use the internet till it has learned and created rules for them. You can also password protect it. It will remove add banners, you can view stats, and customize your rules that you have and it works perfectly in win2k. None of that configure-test-reconfigure-test-configureagain to see if yougot it right. This program learns for you, then you tweak later. It does the same for all incoming tcp and ip connections. Doesn't that sound nice? =)

Get and install the voodoo3 drivers from my web page. http://seldzar.dhs.org

Hey thanx, I didn't have problems doing it that way but hey it's all good isn't it?
-
Well if your isntalling the hacked drivers I am hoping you were changing the clock speed in the inf. Otherwise if you didn't your running your voodoo3 2000 @ 166 and that may be causing your problems.
