Being my personal understanding but do video cards NOT need an irq?. I mean an IRQ is an interupt request for the device to interrupt the CPU to perform whatever fuction the device is for. A video card is constantly being used so at what point does it need to interrupt the cpu to USE the video card?

Sure, Just run winnt32.exe from within win2k and select upgrade and sit back.

Grab the voodoo3 driver files here http://seldzar.dhs.org Install them and all will work good.

Now the question really becomes are those digital outputs with the addon part gonna work? Remember the drivers are WDM, Windows Data Model. In other words very basic. I would be very surprised if you can get those to work. But hats off to ya if ya do.!

Ummmm lets see, I uninstalled ez cd 4 and deleted the directory, replaced the ASPI driver with the one from my web page ( http://seldzar.dhs.org . Then I went into regedit and removed almost all references to Adaptec and rebooted. I then reinstalled ez cd 4 again with a different directory name and rebooted. I can burn again BUT it still seems to stop responding 3/4 the way though a burn but it does come back(wierd). I don't wanna have to format to clear it all out. There is a reason no one can find the update on Adaptec's FTP site anymore!

DON'T put that patch in!!!!!!! I put it in and it didn't update the verison number and from that point on I had nothing but trouble burning cd's. I Have had to re-isntall it a couple of time and replace my aspi driver and the progie still seems to stop responding when burning and then it comes back if left alone. It even rebooted my pc when writing to a rewritebale....wierd. But after cleaning out the registry and replacing the aspi driver and then re-installing it to a new directory it burned fine(aside from the stop responding issue). Anyone else had any problems with that update?

Hey, No the tv out won't work till 3dfx releases official drivers. To get All 3 api's working in 2151 go to http://seldzar.dhs.org and download and install the voodoo3 drivers in the files section. Most games work great for me. The default voodoo3.sys and .dll that come with 2151 are D3D only.

You can get them here http://seldzar.dhs.org However, I believe that ez cd creator 4 will install and work fine without them. I have it installed and all is working good.

So the question is now hwat exactly is it gonna take for someone to share that release? =) I got a nice and fast connection, hopefully someone willcome and see me *hint hint*

Can't say if voodoo3 is supported in red hat 6 and theres no problems in multiprocessor systems

Go here http://seldzar.dhs.org and download and install the voodoo3 files. Be sure that it asks you to replace NEWER voodoo3.sys and voodoo3.dll. If it doesn't then you will need to reboot insafe mode and delete them and reinstall.

What part of this aren't you understanding? I have the SAME card as your and it works. It isn't in the HCL cause it's a SBLIVE just a slight variation of it. I'm sure Rc3 will fix it but you CAN get it working. Like I said KEEP SCREWING with it. uninstall it, reinstall it, update the drivers etc. Try isntalling the drivers for the "multimedia audio controller" from the sblive cd in the nt40 dir. You will get it to install as something else then update the driver with the sblive drivers you downloaded. Also when installing the drivers get a list of all hardware as opposed to compatible hardware and you should see sblive (wdm). If you still can't get it going, sucks to be you =) hehe

DirectX Verision: DirectX 7.0(4.07.00.0000) You can also tell if you see several older files listed under DirectX files. Dx7 fixed several issues I was having with motocross madness, so I know it's good.

Merkman, you really need to learn how to search the internet if you don't think you can get RC3 =) I'm sure it will be widely available to those who know where to look.

Thanx, actually I'm hosting my own site on my Win2k box and I just have a cable connection(I capped the site at 40kbps upstream, I want some bandwidth for remote administration =) I had my Sblive 1024 detected as a multimedia audio controller as well. I believe I just went to update the driver, selected show a list, clicked have disk and pointed it to my sblive drivers you downloaded. Then select show all hardware and it should show you the sblive (wdm) drivers. Good luck!

Well Gosh there chameleon you should really be working on those *new and improved* voodoo3 drivers ya got there! =-o) That URL is nothing but a PR post stating that they will have drivers when the OS is finished. The suggestion of the voodoo3 was simply a *quick and cheap* fix for getting games running in win2k right away. Why ever bother to buy a new video card when the next gen is always just a little ways away? If you don't draw the line somewhere you'll never get a new card. Also don't forget 3dfx is expecting voodoo4 to ship first quarter next year, not christmas. [This message has been edited by Seldzar (edited 22 October 1999).]

Yup that is the final. I just gave the entire site an overhaul. Hell of a lot more organized now .

http://seldzar.dhs.org I have the Sblive 1024 and it works great, however I had a ***** of a time getting the drivers in to the point where I got them in but I'm not truely sure exactly what I did =) I used the drivers located on my page, grabbem.

HOT DAMN Do I agree, ATI's win98 drivers are pretty much crap, voodoo3 is by far the most compatable vid card out there.
