DON'T use the voodoo3.sys/dll from RC1 or else D3D won't work. Use the 2114 voodoo3.sys/dll. Get the zip file from Chameleon, it's the same file i sent to him and he's working good now. games that have worked fine for me are: Q3 Ureal Tournament Midtown Madness Motocross Madness C&C2:Tiberiun Sun MDK(D3D) Sinistar: Unleashed Age Of Empires 2

Just buy a new vid card =) the voodoo3 2000 is nice and cheap and available in pci and agp, is pooploads faster and seems to be the card that works the best with win2k.

He is refering to the new SB Live! 1024 that has digital out on the back of the card with the rest of the input/outputs. I had problems installing it at first as well....win2k didn't want to regocnise it as a sblive.

Here I am again, this time with Win2k RC2 and well now it seems to run great but i keep getting Blue screens with "xmode_exception not handled" errors I have the hardware acceleration all the wAy down as per the other post(MX300) about duel celerons freezing but i have no idea whats causing these errors. I formatted win2k and reinstalled RC2 fresh. I have my duel celerons overclocked to 528 however both of them run fine (each as the main cpu) in 98 under stressful gaming. Any help would be appreciated

I figured out my problem, the problem was the Mx300. In single processor mode it is fine, in duel processor it sucks ass, well the WDM drivers do. SO i replaced it with an SBlive! 1024 and all is good.......everything is almost perfect.

I put the Glide/GL fix in and everything works flawless for me...unreal tournament just booted right up and played. I'm using 2128 and since i got rid of my Mx300 everything has been super smooth.

Granted it could be heat related however i still have one other issue, my sound dies very shortly into a fresh boot of win2k. It had never done this previous. I clocked the cpus down to 506 and after about 1 IE click and one icq uh-oh it was gone. I'm quite sure if i run at the default clock speed the same will happen

HELP HELP HELP!! Dammit I just upgraded to duel celerons and a ABIT BP6 Mb. When I have win2k as a Standard PC it runs fine, however, if i set it to MPS Multiprocessor PC when ever i do anything with AVi's, Mpg's, Asf's....you naem it....the system locks solid and I must press the reset button. I have diabled all i can think of in the bios....all extra irqs that would be in use, I have disabled acpi and made sure its set to MPS 1.4. This freezing even happens when it was a fresh install with nothing else loaded. I'm using Win 2k 2114. No one else seems to have this problem.

Anyone been able to get multiprocessor support in Q3 with a voodoo3, Abit BP6 and duel celerons? I'm using the drivers provided by this site I Have the new 3dfxogl.dll renamed to 3dfxvgl.dll and it plays quake sweet @ 53fps in high quality. However, it goes black except for a strip across the top that i can sorta see my desktop and the key shortcuts that i'm using trying to exit q3. Anyone get this to work at all?

Also how about the gravis Exterminator?? It's nice and all when you get the games working but no controller makes it pointless! I'm using build 2114 and nothing so far has worked. Anyone know if Gravis is making any win2k drivers?

Yes 2072 worked fine, and i did the upgrade the next day and brought the acceleration level down to emulation and all seems good. However i still am getting arbitrary freezes and wierd lock ups while browsing. Nothing to worry about, I'll be formatting and reinstalling when RC2 is out.

THANK YOU!.however i ahve already formatted and isntalled win2k 2072 with the aureal drivers i downloaded from a link on this board.....however i will upgrade it to 2114 tomorrow and try as you suggested. Then we just get to wait for the offical RC2

I'm using celeron 433's they aren't overclocked and in the bios it automatically notices the 2 cpus....and I have the bios set to MPS 1.4 not sure what you mean by how am i enabling it on the Mb. I just recently laoded the standard PC drivers and now it's not crashing and i can play the avi's and what not. But whats the point of having 2 cpus when it don't work right?......as far as i know this is unique to my hardware setup
