I've got a Xentor32 TNT2 Ultra and run UT at 1280x1024 at around 50 fps. Sometimes more sometimes less. This is on a dual 366-->550 celeron.
-
dual 366-->550 no problems.
-
Just as a note, what do you consider removing old drivers? Just deleting nv*.* from the winnt and subfolders or more. Thanks.
-
I know this has been answered in here, but how do you adjust refresh rates in DX games? When I start UT, my refresh rates are all off. Thanks a lot.

I have a WD 18GB drive currently using FAT32 under build2195, what advantages is there to converting the drive to NTFS? Thanks a lot
-
wow, thanks for the info. i'll definately go NTFS once i get the final installed. thanks again
-
Do y'all upgrade you installs or do it fresh everytime? That's pretty hardcore if y'all do a fresh install everytime.
-
I have a Xentor 32 TNT2 Ultra which runs at 175 core 183 Memory and it runs fine. There are some issues with the drives, for me at least in UT. I can't say much about Q3A as I installed it and have only played it two or three times.

I was about to install RC3 and I think I might just wait.
-
Wow! that's great. I can't wait. Thanks for the info guys.
-
Have any of the older issues been addressed? MX300 + SMP? etc. Or, in general how much better/worse is RC3?

I understand your point, but there is no need to reply to anyones threads if you don't like it. A lot of people, including myself, are struggling with this beta release and getting it to work with my TNT2. This board is a wealth of knowledge, but is also filled with incomplete sentences and misleading, unclear claims. If I personally have ever re-asked something it's just in an effort to help clear my question up. I do see too many people jump to asking without looking around, to those I don't reply right away. Heck, I still can't get UT or TRIBES to work with my TNT2 and I've tried just about everything, but that's ok, it's beta. I hope to see new drivers soon. Unfortunately I've personally found IRC to little or no help at all (too many attitudes) and many websites are stale or contain broken links. Just my comments, I agree with what you're saying regarding the "fake dx7 guy" as he didn't know his d**k from his mouse, but don't generalize his behavior to all of us that are struggling with this beta

Has anyone heard any more on this? Thanks
-
Actually, I believe that it IS a gaming platform, like NT x.x should have been. I'm referring to all the most recent games, not old DOS games. Now legacy games are another story...those I don't believe should be bothered within to some degree. my 2 cents.

Hey Jimmy, can you please outline in detail how to get UT and such working with a TNT2 and build 2128? I've d/l direct7 and installed it, but what drivers (and where to get them) are you using. Thanks a ton.
-
I can't seem to get these installed. When I try to update the driver it ignores them and won't let me choose them.
-
Do they work (i.e. with UT, q3a etc?)
-
with dual 550s my MX300 works for an undetermined amount of time then I loose sound. No conflicts or anythings, it just poops out. I threw in my old SB16 and it works fine. I assume it's a driver thing.

looking for HOTROD 1.20 and DX7 final for win2k rc1/rc2. thx
Hugo replied to JimmyK's topic in Hardware
Did it allow you to install RC2 from your WD HD JimmyK? I can't try it as I'm away from my computer for a couple days. -
I assume being a developer, that nVidia let him use the non-public beta drivers.
-
Will we see some new drivers that will let TNTx users play games under win2k before it's final? Or will we have to wait? Has anyone heard anything? Just curious......i'm tired of dual booting.
-
I assume next month means November and that the statement wasn't made at the end of September? DOH!
-
I have 2114 and none of my games work. I've read of the problems on this board and was just wondering if anyone has tried out RC2 and a TNT2 yet? Thanks!
-
I saw that there are some newer nvidia drivers at www.riva3d.com and www.tweak3d.com and was wondering if anyone has tried these in Windows2000 (2128). I can't try them as I don't have access to my computer right now.

That's the same UDM66 controller that the BP6s have, I believe. If you'll read around on this board you'll find that some have had success, but myself and others have run into a lot of trouble with it. I'm hoping that future bios/driver updates along with later build of Win2k will eliminate the problems! Be sure you have the latest drivers from www.betanews.com for that controller.
