win2k is up to dx7,

JimmyK Do you know where the registry key is for the speed rating on a tnt2u in win2k. I have looked and looked for it but have never found it.

im gonna get the wintv-go, is this the card you have?, i dont really care for stereo or anything else that comes with the 90 dollar version. as long as the card is pci, has 125 channel tuner and has intercast im fine. Also its cheap 49 dollars..

I have a viviscan scanner that i picked up a while ago for 75 bucks. I dont think it will ever work in win2k. It is a parallel scanner and i mailed the company and they said they werent even planning making drivers when win2k comes out. The winnt drivers dont work i tired them once and i dont think they installed or they did but just plain didnt work. Now i remember it did install but everytime i fired up photoshop and went to import and i chose twain device the feild was empty.. Anyone have a clue. im guessing ill just have to throw another 75 dollars down the drain to pick up another ****ty scanner..

Im surprised they dont even have beta drivers available that allow full functionality on their board.

sp6 does not upgrade directx, Correct me if im wrong but i believe they are all security fixes.

I think you should be lucky you found something that may set you on the right direction to fix your problem. This site has been very helpful to many of us. I dont think you should criticize anyone here, and definately not the moderator who sets up all this information.... Keep up the good work..If it werent for this board half my hardware wouldnt work..

i reverted back to the old 2.08 drivers, 3.52 would gimme lock ups once in awhile. The same with 3.56. They didnt like going into windows mode with q3. Oh well I dont have any d3d programs anyway..

so it doesnt work in nt either? I have not tried yet, im waiting for more info.i have a dual cpu. I was thinking of starting up with a single and then installign and then going back to dual but that may just be a waste of time.. oh well

convert your hd to ntfs, Virus's dont like ntfs as much as fat32.

thats it, Some will work an dsome wont. Depends on what your installing.

so how does it work, im gonna install it when i get home. This is big very big, almost as big as the time i got my cdr workign in win2k now all my hardware works..

as far as i know, I have heard a lot of people speak of this no one has ever gotten it to work in win2k, I even read it at id software that there is some incompatibility with q3. The problem is with the game not with win2k...

it probably wont show up because your using an ntfs partition. Hmm cant you load up last know good boot?

I installed it over the weekend i think it was the one that came with cd creater 4 or whatever the hell that program is called, but thats besides the point. Anyway my system crashed 3 times that day, it ahs never crashed before in win2k never. Except when i tried to run q3 with 2 processors.2 days later i havent had any problems. I burned a cd worked well. Also there is a new aspi layer at betanews.com for win2k... What do you guys think...

do you ahve hte adaptec aspi layer. I have hte exe but it doesnt install on my computer because i dont have either adaptec software nor an adaptec card, I have heard that it works well.

As far as i have seen there are no drivers with extra tabs in win2k. I hope they do something about that because i sure want to oc the card without needing powerstrip.

can you do me a big favor and copy the aspi layer and make a zip file of it for me. I dont have either that adaptec software or an adaptec card but i have heard that the adaptec aspi also works with nero.. ckrikos@earthlink.net
