so your saying that you used the voodoo3 drivers for NT by 3Dfx and windows 2000 RC3 found drivers in the extracted folder and used those drivers ..and now Direct3D, DirectDraw, OpenGL, and everything in the display panel is highlighted and you can even see direct3d properties ? but your using a voodoo 3 3500 .hmm.. ?

so what software dvd player are you using? and you say it actually works in RC3 ? do you have the latest version of that HTP366 ? i'll be back..

the registry hack doesnt work, it only worked for beta3 or something. only way is that active desktop thing, but many will say that it eats up resources, you have to weight it yourself, resources or version info. tough choice huh! chameleon win2kbox.8m.com

hmm.. what type of disk ? how many partitions? what file system did the partitions have ? were the partitions empty or they had stuff on them? did you copy the win2k setup files to the partition or disk where you where going to install ? or install from another partition? how come you didnt upgrade ? did you create another partition from within setup ? how could ya hdd go off ? how could ya tell ? how come ya didnt reboot and continue setup ? why did you press F6 ? where did it say "cant detect pc type" ? where did you select standard ? you mean it installed just fine after this ? so it all worked well? then just remember this for the next time! ;o) chameleon win2kbox.8m.com

well.. its weird that you download two of my files, and have questions about them, but cant send me an email or icq me to ask me questions on stuff on my site!? but come to a forum!!? im boggled. but anyways .. you should uninstall your current driver and reboot, if upon reboot it installs them again, then uninstall again, and install the new drivers right there, or you can also use the update drivers button to update your current drivers, and give that a try, if you want to try out the directx7 afterwards, then thats fine.. it actually puts in some files missing from directx7 in win2k, so it could do ya some good, any further questions you can post here since you prob wont email me ;P chameleon win2kbox.8m.com

hmm, i dont recall having the same problem, or anyone for that matter, (unless they say something!!!) and i have an Optiquest V95, are the drivers installed for the v75 ? i know win2k has native drivers and everything works fine with them! hmmm, do the games startup weird ? or they just go to a black screen? or is the entire problem that the right refresh rate isnt being shown on the display properties panel ? chameleon win2kbox.8m.com

hmmm, thats pretty lucky, and what's that a celery 300a ? c'mon celery lovers lets see if M got lucky or if it really is win2k !? I would think with windows 2000 better resource management and with its way better 32bit code that it wont crash so quick as win98 will crash if you sneeze too many times, win2k is too stable for an overclocked celery to find a weakness to quick, could be. hey M what's the longest uptime you've had, both in win2k and quake ? chameleon win2kbox.8m.com

MX300 now has full SMP support in 2183[RC3] so if you have dual cpus, what are you waiting for ?, the aureal card i have is using native 2183 drivers that it installed, i havent installing anything else and everything is working fine, i have the xytel platinum by the way. chameleon win2kbox.8m.com

What game is this? Also, you might be able to get the liveware fix working but you'll have better compability with SMP when you upgrade to RC3.

I agree with Apoptosis, just 3 minutes ago i found out one of the major fixes in RC3 is that the MX300 drivers finally do work with SMP now and pre RC3 builds didnt have this support, the same was supposed to be for direct3d, but this hasn't been confirmed anywhere, guess im going to have to keep testing. also RC3 is the first release candidate needing a key. the RC3 DDK has been released for free download, emailing your hardware company to get them would not be a bad idea since you want 2000 support for your hardware. chameleon's win2kbox.8m.com [This message has been edited by chameleon (edited 21 November 1999).]

be happy with what you have, thats all we can do as well, remember that you are using fixed drivers which are not official in any way or have seen the light of 3dfx's voodoo lab, so until they make drivers, enjoy it how it is. chameleon win2kbox.8m.com

my guess is that your probably still using build 2128 and i can simply say that by 2183 there has to be some support for your scanner one way or the other, so to make a long story short, either upgrade to a newer build of windows that might have working native drivers or keep checking the HCL part of my home page win2kbox.8m.com until it shows up! good luck! chameleon

i just updated my site win2kbox.8m.com with the tnt 3.56 o/GL working drivers if they are of any use to anyone, you can get them in the files section.

I used to have the exact problem, i think until i updated the aspi drivers from nero with they released, then everything worked just fine, and CDRWIN has way greater stability with their drivers and win2k, glad everything works now! ;o)

if it supports win2k, did it come with drivers for nt4 ? what does it say on the Creative Ensoniq homepage about it running under 2000 ? there must be native drivers under win2k, did it install and run or it didnt detect it whatsoever? the mixer you want could probably be in the win9x version of the software which might not run in win2k, if there is nothing for winnt/2k then you might as well be happy with it running the slightest bit. http://win2kbox.8m.com
