Anybody managed to get the Daytona to work in Windows 2000 ? Turtle Beach sketchy procedure to use the NT4 drivers does not work for me. Thanks

Anybody got ACPI to work with the Tyan S1836DLUAN ? I've updated to the latest BIOS but no cigar. Thanks

First off, this drive is fundamentally flawed. Second, flashing the new firmware did not help. And third, I got around it by using the atapi.sys from beta3. Apparently they changed some timeout values in more recent atapi.sys and the drive locks it up. Doing it is no piece of cake though because of the way W2K protects and automatically replaces its base drivers with standard copies.

No need to try if you have dual CPUs. I talked to Diamond back in June and they acknowledged it was not working with dual CPUs. Here we are in October and they only have their crappy beta driver from February on their website. Aureal would not talk, they have however an entry in their "ask aureal" forum [censored] from sometimes in late July I think that admits their driver is not working for dual CPUs. I submitted the question three times over the past two months and they have ignored it. At this point I am trying to have Diamond take the card back and refund my money. I am thinking about writing to the magazines (web and paper) because I'm getting madder by the day.

It works fine for me and the only thing I had to do was enable it. That is: on the server machine (RC2), right click the dial up connection and enable sharing in the property tab. There is nothing to do on the client (W98) machine. Just make sure it is setup to get its configuration automatically, i.e. no IP address assigned, no gateway assigned and so on.

It does not work on my setup either. But I think it is because of my MX300 and my dual CPU machine. Those stupidly incompetent Aureal people still haven't got a driver working for dual CPU machines. Anything that is remotely sound intensive (such as DVD or cinematic sequences) locks up the machine. [Note: that's of course true for RC2, but that is also true for NT4]

A few days ago, I saw here that Money 2000 was supposed to work great with W2K. But since it did not work for me I submitted a note stating so. Now I see it again listed as working correctly, so obviously someone has had some success or did not try it out enough. I have a huge Money 2000 file under NT4. When I try to open it under W2K, it refuses to open it stating that it cannot be open with that version of Money 2000. (Note that I installed Money 2000 both under NT4 and W2K from the same CD). Puzzled, I tried to open the Sample.mny file that is included and sure enough Money again complained it could not open it. I am running RC2. Now starting using Money 2000 in W2K from scratch seems to work fine but there may be a danger that the data will be unreadable later! So is anyone with Money2000 and W2K RC2 really able to open the sample.mny file ? Thank you

I have the same board but with two Pentium II 350 and ACPI runs fine (W2K RC2). Have you checked the BIOS setup ?

Do you happen to have an HiVal/Kenwood 40x CDROM drive by any chance ?
