I'm running Win2k from a 30,7gb HD. I've succesfully converted it to NTFS once before, but for some stupid reason I converted it back to FAT32 with PM6 a little while ago. Now I want to convert it NTFS again, using "convert d: /fs:ntfs /v" from the cmd, and rebooting. But when I reboot it says Insufficient memory (three times), and continues to load windows. I have 192mb ram, and 7,5gb of free space on the hd, and I have the exact same system as first time I converted it to NTFS. Is there anyway I can fix this?

I'm having problems with "sticky-keys" when using Mouseware in XP. I'm using a Logitech Mouseman Dual Optical, and when I press all the buttons at the same time when I'm gaming one of the buttons lock up, got to release it and activate it again to free it up. This is very annoying since I'm using all the three buttons when gaming. I've tried version 9.0, 9.24 and 9.41 (the newest one, XP compatible), makes no difference. Also downloaded the critical update and DX 8.1. Anyone who might know a solution to this?

Yes, that is one option that has crossed my mind. But, I like the options Mouseware give me, and I'm used to the low acceleration mode etc (I don't think the "Enhance pointer precision" the MS software has gives the same feeling). Thanks for the advice though

I have a Hercules Fortissimo II soundcard, based on the CS4624 chip. I'm having problems with the soundcard being really noisy, so much noise that you can't hear anything else but the noise. It happens when playing HL (haven't tried any other games yet), some times it won't noise, but when the noise starts (it doesnt start in the middle of the game, just when I restart HL) I have to reboot XP to get rid of it. When playing mp3's it works fine, except if I use the keyboard shortcuts (MS Inet pro) to stop/next song/etc, then it will noise. I've tried the original drivers from Hercules, drivers from Cirrus Logic, and the Santacruz WinXP beta drivers (they were compatible with the CS4624 chip). Anyone who's experienced this problem, or might know a solution to this? I'm running build 2505 of XP.

Using only 256mb ram didn't work, thanks for the tip anyway. Guess I'll have to wait for new drivers from Hercules. Something strange though... I tried to apply the largepageminimum and sysparse reg fixes for Win2k, just as a last option. This totally messed up the sound, it would noise at all times, so I had to reinstall XP (forgot to take backup of the old settings).

Quote: I had the same problem with u with my KT7A-Raid, I was getting like 13000 in Sisandra and I noticed the HPT370 driver is the default one for XP, so I updated the driver to Highpoint's 1.0.3b driver and I got a boost back up to 34000. I'm not sure if it's right to do to use the driver other than the one provided in xp but so far I've no problems, but I've only been using it for couple days. You didn't install any other patches etc? I'm using the 1.0.3b drivers, but I'm still getting 10000 in Sandra. I've tried the newest drivers too, but they just give me mouse jittering.

Is there any way to improve the disk performance in XP, since via4in arent compatible? I'm getting a drive index of 10 000 in Sandra2001, and this is using RAID-0, was getting around 40 000 in Win2k.

I just installed WinXP RC1, and I can't seem to turn mouseaccel completely off. I'm using Logitech Mouseware for my mouse, but setting mouseaccel to off there doesn't disabled it 100%. I don't like gaming with mouseaccel, so I want it completely off. Is it anywhere in the registry you can turn it off, or some other way?

I'm running WinXP build 2462. I've tried to open up luna.msstyles with ResourceHacker to edit the bmp's, just want to change the blue colors, it's a little too bright. After replacing some bmp's, and saved the file as luna.msstyles, it will just get replaced by the original luna.msstyles after some seconds. Anyone who knows a workaround for this? I've set SFCDisabled to 1 in the registry, which should disable the file protection? I've seen a couple of skins made for build 2419, but they won't work on 2462.

The game loads up fine, and loads all the textures when trying to start a race, but then it kicks me back to the desktop. Anyone who knows how make this game work in Win2k? From what I've read some have no problems with it, and others have the same problem as me.

It's only got Win98 compatability, but some people are able to run it under Win2k, and others not. I've tried the compatability app, just gives me a program error =\ ------------------ Duron 800@1050 ABit KT7-RAID 512Mb PC133 Dual IBM 45Gb's - RAID-0 Hercules GF2 GTS Plextor 12x/10x/32x SB Live 1024

Just tried to re-install Win2k. After the setup had checked the partition it said something like "The partition is corrupt and cannot be fixed".

Ok, guess I'll have to wait for SP2 then, better then deleting the TOC =] It did convert it with Win2k the last time, strange bug =]

I just bought a Soundblaster Live!. After installing it WinMgmt.exe now performs an illegal operation every ~30sec. Downloaded and installed Live!Ware for Win2k, but that didn't help. So I had to disable Windows Management Information. Anyone who has experienced the same problem, and now how to fix this? ------------------ P2 400@516 ABit BX6 2.0 Creative TNT2 Ultra 192MB Ram WD 8,4GB WD 30,7GB Teac 4x/12x CD-R Creative 5x DVD SB Live

Whats the most stable NVidia driver? I've got a Creative TNT2 Ultra, and my system is unstable as hell. I'm currently running 3.84, but I don't find them more stable then the others. When playing games my computer suddenly freezes after a while, and I've got to reboot. I'm running WinME too, and my computer never freezes in WinME, but I think Win2k is so much better. So, any suggestions? I've tried all the 5.x drivers except the 5.25 ------------------ P2 400@516 ABit BX6 2.0 Creative TNT2 Ultra 192MB Ram WD 8,4GB WD 30,7GB Teac 4x/12x CD-R Creative 5x DVD

Did a fresh install a couple of days ago and installed the 5.22 drivers right away, but it's still unstable. So it wasn't my windows that was messed up ThC 129: Thanks for the tip, I'll try to get some new AGP drivers and stuff ------------------ P2 400@516 ABit BX6 2.0 Creative TNT2 Ultra 192MB Ram WD 8,4GB WD 30,7GB Teac 4x/12x CD-R Creative 5x DVD [This message has been edited by ParaDoX (edited 20 June 2000).]

My Win2000 Pro is unstable as hell. When I play games it suddenlyfreezes, sometimes after 30mins, sometimes after 2hours. It also has a tendency to freeze in regular windows. My system is perfectly stable in WinME (but Win2k is so much better), so it's not because of my OC CPU, it's running at 25-28degrees celsius (I've tried to run it at default speed, but still unstable). Doesn't mather which drivers I use for my TNT2, 3.x and 5.x are both unstable. I'm not running many background apps, so it's plenty of free resources. Any tips would be greatly appriciated. ------------------ P2 400@516 ABit BX6 2.0 Creative TNT2 Ultra 192MB Ram WD 8,4GB WD 30,7GB Teac 4x/12x CD-R Creative 5x DVD

Well, this f*cked up my card. I've got a Creative TNT2 Ultra. I flashed it with the newest bios, rebooted to win2k. Now I get 20.1-30.2fps in Opengl, and 11.1 in D3D. Tried restoring it with my old bios, still the same results. Then I flashed it with an offical Creative BIOS, still no luck. Get ****ty fps in both Win2k and WinME, tried different drivers too Update: Turn out that the VSync suddenly was turned on, turned it off and everything works perfect now ------------------ P2 400@516 ABit BX6 2.0 Creative TNT2 Ultra 192MB Ram WD 8,4GB WD 30,7GB Teac 4x/12x CD-R Creative 5x DVD [This message has been edited by ParaDoX (edited 09 June 2000).]

I find this drivers extremely unstable with my sytem, it makes my computer lock-up/reboot. All the 5.x drivers has been a little unstable for me (3.x is rock-stable), but not this unstable. It really sucks, because the speed of these drivers are great. ------------------ P2 400@516 ABit BX6 2.0 Creative TNT2 Ultra 192MB Ram WD 8,4GB WD 30,7GB Teac 4x/12x CD-R Creative 5x DVD

I haven't tested these drivers yet... but all the 5.x drivers lock-up if I use Powerstrip (locks up exactly when Powerstrip loads).. I'm currently using 5.16, no problems ------------------ P2 400@516 ABit BX6 2.0 Creative TNT2 Ultra 192MB Ram WD 8,4GB WD 30,7GB Teac 4x/12x CD-R Creative 5x DVD

DVD's run perfectly smooth on my machine. I'm using PowerDVD 2.5 ------------------ P2 400@516 ABit BX6 2.0 Creative TNT2 Ultra 192MB Ram WD 8,4GB WD 30,7GB Teac 4x/12x CD-R Creative 5x DVD

These drivers gives me great FPS in games, no lock-ups. But, I have the same problem as I've had with alle the other 5.x drivers, some of the textures in Half-Life (blood, bulletholes etc) are flickering etc. So, I'm going back to 3.x. Anyone who knows how to fix this?

It's the CD protection system that is incompatible with Win2K Gamemaster: Getting it cracked doesn't help either.
