I read on some web page (can't remember which) that it was possible to define IRQ affinity on a multi proc system ( like cpu affinity for prog) i.e. you can choose on which cpu, IRQ will be treated. Does anyone know where it can be tuned or is it a feature of the server version? JEFF

Since I installed the 5.13 drivers, my opengl doesn't run anymore and if I revert back to older drivers, it doesn't change anything. I'd like to avoid a clean install so does anybody has any idea on any way I could get my opengl back. PS : D3D runs flawlessly A-Trend Dual PIII 450 512MB U2LVD 2x9Go UDMA33 9Go Xentor 32 Jeff

I had the same pb as you and i'll try to avoid you a clean install. I think this come from one of the tweak for win2k on tweak3d.net but i'm not sure (it could be a swapfile to small ). In any case it was when i removed some tweak and increased my swap size that the system worked correctly. If you can find what well good luck. Oh, please tell me if this work as it could be useful to others JEFF

Recently it changed, now the server is 512Mo |-) Jeff

I'm very happy with these new drivers but since I installed them, Opengl doesn't work anymore (tried the opengl screensaver and some game). I reverted to 3.81 and it worked ok but every time I put the 5.13, same pb. I looked at the inf file and saw no major difference explaining this pb. So has anybody had the same pb and if so how have you fixed it. Correction : it is not that they don't work, they only work very slowly whereas D3D works flawlessly JEFF A-Trend Dual PIII 450 512 Mo RAM U2LVD Xentor 32 [This message has been edited by jeff (edited 01 April 2000).]

I already tried different version of the drivers ( for sure the 3.66 which was reputedly the most stable ) and I got the same pb. So i have one question : does anybody with a dual proc (or more??) and a TNT2 has no problem with the overlay under 2K???
-
I did the same thing and the pb also disappeared. So it seems that the pb has to do with the dual processor thing but what, is it a pb with the drivers which do not support multi proc?
-
same prob except that i have a bi PIII 450 on an A-trend board and that i didn't have this pb before with a single PIII on a Bx6 2

I get a strange pb with Photoshop on my dual PIII 450, whenever I launch it, if i try to fill a new image with a color i get a crash with no BSOD or anything else, it just hangs up and stop. I tried with only one proc and this time it works great. Any idea, does somebody has already encountered this pb. Dual PIII 450 A-Trend 6280 256Mo PC100 Adaptec U2W -> LVD HD TNT2 Ultra v3.75 (i trie the 3.66 and it still crash same for the drivers shipped with win)

I just upgraded my PIII 450 abit bx6 2 to an bi PIII 450 a-trend 6280M and I got various display pb using realplayer an dmedia player I fixed the one with RP7 by disabling video optimization but i'd like to understand. I turned back to 3.66 drivers for my tnt2 but it did not change anything. So does anybody knows what's it's all about??? And by the way, Photoshop has became very unstable any idea either? (I think it's related to the previous pb)
-
back on biproc and photoshop crashes again so the mix multiproc + photoshop is kinda explosive with me and yes i've tried microsoft tnt drivers and nvidia 3.66 and 3.75
-
With the nvidia drivers shipped with the 2195 there is no such pb in real player (I tried it). And concerning photoshop, I have maybe an explication although a sad one. My mobo had some kinda defect with the cpu2 fan connector -> my second proc is dead ( ) (no cooling) (the guarantee ends tomorrow so i think that i'll hurry ). So now I got only one proc and the photoshop bug has disappeared. I think that my proc was overheated and with the heavy use of the system ressources, it crashed. These were two different bugs ( final answer when I get a new proc) [This message has been edited by jeff (edited 01 February 2000).] [This message has been edited by jeff (edited 01 February 2000).]

To begin with, I can't run Real Player 7 without disabling video optimization and the media player sometimes disable any signal from my video card (which It didn't on my old abit). And photoshop can't run for 5 minutes without crashing the computer (no bluescreen or anything else, push reset or power and restart is the only way to reboot)
-
Oh yes I reinstalled everything ( at first I did not but seeing what it was looking like I did a clean install format and all..) So I don't think it's that
-
I think that the dedicated server of UT also use smp (or isn't disturbed by a smp system) for my server which has a load of about 16 player (sometime more) has 2 threads running and judging by the load of each processor, the server (or the os) dispatch half the load on each proc. This allow a maximum load of 36 instead of 18 on my biproc PIII 450

Same answer as in the hardware section, disable video optimization in the performance section of the preferences and it should work fine.
-
I got the same problem with RP7 and the 3.75 did not change anything. However I found a workaround for this, in the preference menu, choose the performance tab and disable video optimization. On my computer it works well and I don't have any pb.

Recently I tried to install the demo version of NetXray and some others net programs but W2k 2195 keep on not seeing the network card. Does anyone has the same pb? The card is a 3com 905tbx Thanks Jeff
-
I tried the modification of the registry to use the card under rc2 but afterward, each time I booted, I got a blue screen saying BAD_SPOOL. Does anybody have the same problem?

OK, the problem disappeared when I installed the new version of the drivers from Sigmadesigns. You can find it in the same location as the previous ones ( ftp://ftp.sigmadesigns.com/outgoing/ ) but they are dated 10/06/99 (alpha drivers v1.1 instead of 1.0 )
