FearCourage replied to FearCourage's topic in Hardware
Holy Bananas....they've dropped again! -
Probably has something to do with drivers for your voodoo card... Try getting the latest ones...as well as DX7
-
Seldzar has like everything on his site.. all the most important downloads... Hey Seldzar..how did you get your site to run so fast? You on a t-3 or something?
-
Man, I hope I'm not going to be the only one using this hardware!
-
Check the hardware section, The diamond fireGl1000 isn't supported by windows 2000...Not yet anyway.
-
This is a Win2k problem... It will be hashed out for sure in the release version, or ID software will surely make a patch or something... I know how you feel.. I have dual Pentium II 600's... with 256 megs of ram.... 1.2Ghz for crying out loud...
-
Very nice site.... I can't wait to test out the overclock utility.. Is this the final version of DX7?
-
Has anyone found a way to make SMP work in Win2k for Quake 3? I was hoping that it would scream with Dual 600's and 256 Megs of ram... Voodoo 3 3500....But...
-
Bulletproof FTP is definitely the best way to go... I recommend it also.
-
Why bother with a V3 when Voodoo4 is coming out near Christmas? It'll support the new AGP 4x, assuming the new motherboards ship in time... You also might want to check out Creative Labs newest card, the Annihilator..

I bet I know what it is too.. Let me guess.. Coppermine? The .18 Micron process chips? Hmm... Let's hope that the 600 and 700 mhz chips are in Slot 1! I want to be able to put those babies in my motherboard.. BTW, I have a Supermicro P6DGS with onboard Adaptec Ultra/Wide SCSI... So if I run Dual 700's instead of 600's...then my system will truly be badass... If anyone else knows of better prices than on pricewatch, let us know! I have been looking at pricewatch by the hour and it seems to drop about every 90 minutes.... The next 24-48 hours are going to be very interesting indeed... -
Also, once your printer is shared, you want to make sure that proper permissions have been set on it, but if you are the only one using it, then this isn't really relevant.

I was pretty sure that both the Annihilator and the Platinum Live edition were just released.. I don't know for sure..but that's the word I got today. Hopefully the platinum editions been optimized for win2k.
-
Has anyone had or heard of any problems running windows 2k under the onboard SCSI provided with this motherboard? I believe its the Adaptec AIC-7895 or AIC-7890.
-
Wow, 18" LCD? That's pretty expensive hardware.. Looks like so far, that Win2k is going to be pretty solid... Hey, what type of PC-100 SDRAM are you using? I want to get the kind that will work the best without problems in my motherboard. I use http://www.pricewatch.com to find the best prices on stuff...

That is excellent to hear. I have gotten absolutely no help from Adaptec, but oh well, it works. BTW, the system that I am building by the end of November will be a dual PIII 600Mhz system (With the SuperMicro Board) with 256Mb PC-100 Ram, Iilayma Visionmaster Pro 450 19inch monitor, 9.1 Gb Ultra-Wide SCSI HD on my 62-pin port with a Pioneer 303S DVD Rom drive & decoder card, 25GB EIDE HD for storage, Voodoo3 3500 AGP, Soundblaster Live, and some other goodies I haven't figured out yet...
