i have an asus a7n8x deluxe, i think its an absolutely great board. i can overclock my barton 2500+ easily to 3200+ no changes to the cpu or anything.
-
ya, it works great for me. i setup port 8080 on my router to forward to 3389 on my machine. so at work i connect to my ip at home on port 8080 and it automatically goes to 3389 of one of my computers at home. using a router is much easier because then you don't have to mess around with what port your computer is listening on. as far as each computer on your lan is concerned, it is listening on 3389 and you just need to setup your router to forward a port of your choice to each machine. remote desktop is probably one of my favourite features of xp.
-
yes, if you have port forwarding ability on your router. all you need do to is setup another port forward entry on the router, for example forward 4000 -> yourfriendsworkip:3389 then when your friend is at home, they can connect to the ip of the office at work, port 4000, and it will redirect specifically to his machine with the remote desktop port 3389. comprende?

yea somehow, i mistyped my password twice (i guess cuz i wasn't paying much attn and i typed it fast in the dark) and now i can't login to my machine... without buying expensive software is there anyway i can get back in without having to format? like reinstall ontop or something?

i'm glad to know i'm not the only one. its funny though, with previous installations i never had this problem. i think it may have started once i installed StyleXP.

Hey, I'm sure several ppl here should know about that Boot speed optimizer thing from MS that was around a little while back. What I want to know is, does anyone know how to undo whatever changes it did? Cuz it seems like I'm getting a lot of BSOD for no reason and it all started happening after I used that stupid program. I really don't want to format again

Err I don't really understand your message. I take it when you say visual style, you mean just changing the colors around, the design is still the same... and in that case it should be quite functional if you think the Luna interface is usable. Thats why I want to be able to just play around with the colors of the Luna. I didn't say anything about being buggy, I said that some WindowBlinds skins are less usable, either fonts are too small, or the windows are so complicated its distracting. Like ThC said, you gotta find the skins that you like the most. Here's what my desktop looks like: http://www.deviantart.com/view-full.php?id=88582

ya, plus pack isn't worth the cd its burnt on and i agree, though windowblinds is a cool idea, its hard finding usable and functional themes. Styles XP looks quite promising, it looks like it allows you to simply change the color of the luna type interface. http://www.tgtsoft.com/download.html i like it, i can't wait till the editor comes out.

ya i'd be really nice if that feature would work
