yea multi monitors work in win2k if your cards support it, cheap ones that work fine are easy to find. just ask your nearest store for their cheapest card that supports multimonitor. i think i paid like 30 bucks cdn a year ago for one that works fine. one important thing is, in windows 2000 if u buy a single card like a dual head matrox or twin view ati... you need to run both monitors at the same resolution and refresh rate! i'm not sure why, something to do with win2k cuz in win9x they can be different, so this isn't an option for ppl who don't have 2 identical size monitors really.

I've never had a problem with CS before, but just recently for reasons beyond my comprehension when I try to connect to a server now, it gives me like UDP port errors, saying WSAECONNECT problems trying to open ports 27015 etc... I'm not sure if this is service pack 2 or not, I think I did play successfully with SP2 before. Anyone seen this issue before? CS basically thinks my TCP/IP is disabled or something.

figured it out, my cable modem ip address changed so CS was trying to go through an ip that no longer belonged to my computer.

i have a viper 770 tnt2 16mb and it works fine, using detonator 6.47s with win2k. i think you need to get new video drivers.

wow, and i always thought it was vapourware looks neato, lots of detail... *sigh* i think its time to cash out for a geforce2+...

so i don't know what sev's problem is, but its not sp2s fault. quite frankly sp2 hasn't caused me and turmoil and hopefully fixed probs i didn't know about before.

i'm not sure if its just me but after a fresh install of win2k, installing sp2 then upgrading to ie 5.5 when i goto about in ie it says updates:;sp1; and it did say updates:;sp2; before i just at ie 5.0, i guess its no biggy as long as ie still works

DosFreak: do you mean the WINNT\$NtServicePackUninstall$ directory? I can delete that without hassles? I'm quite happy with SP2 so I don't think I need to uninstall. But I should keep the WINNT\ServicePackFiles directory?

if anyone already has it installed, perhaps u could give us the heads up on any problems/conflicts? me being my paranoid self hasn't even installed SP1... but i'm thinking about trying 2.

i'm having a very odd problem. i have a movie thats over 700 megs, so i have to use a 80min cd which can fit 730 megs right? once i burn it, there's no problems during the process of burning but when i try and copy the file back onto the hard drive, it hangs at the last 30 or so megs. as if the file is corrupted. i can play the movie fine from the cd, but if i want to copy it, it won't work ;( any thoughts? thanks

i've tried discjuggler, ez cd creator 5... both of them, i can't copy back any files bigger than 650 megs onto my hd after burning. i'm thinking maybe its my ASPI drivers?

Believe it or not, some of us still have a TNT2. I have a 16mb one and I'm wondering if anyone else does? I'm currently using the 6.47 detonators, which work very nice for Q3. But upon quitting from Counter-Strike (HL) I get a BSOD and reboot. Any thoughts please?

i herd bad things about the 7.17 drivers... maybe i should give the 12.00s a shot? where can i download them?

not that i'm aware of, I have a Abit BH6. And I can copy over movie files that are about 650 MB file without any problems. i'm going to try the cds on other computers today.

yeah but i think i'm using like different units u know when you right click on a file in windows explorer... it may be like 700 MB, but then it will also say like (730,000,000 bytes) thats what i mean by 730...

Hey, got a question here. In win2k for by SB16 ISA I can hear like mp3s and say icq sounds at the same time fine. But my friend has an AWE64 in win98 and he can't, only the mp3s will play. Any thoughts or ideas to get both playing? Any help appreciated.

yeah i'm still using dx8, just with the 6.18's which i don't notice any real speed difference. just an off topic question: so if i notice my fps in like q3 and cs are like pegged at a number, thats because that vertical sync is in the way and i should disable it?
