yeah i uninstalled 7.17 and went back to 6.18 and its all good

i think dx8 doesn't like baulder's gate 2. anyone know how to remove it and go back to dx7 without reinstalling win2k?

i had no brightness problems either, game ran flawlessly.

I'm using DX8 and 7.17 and I noticed no problems but no difference over my 6.18 really. Except that I lost that cool nVidia tab in my display properties

I finished it in 3 days and had no crashing what so ever. Celeron 450 ABIT BH6 TNT2 with Det 6.18 192 MB SDRAM Quantum LM 20.5GB SB16

Hey quick question: How important is it to get the SP1 and install it, I have no problems on my Win2k right now that I'm aware of. I've just read many bad stories about SP installing and screwing up working things. Thanks in advance for the input.

umm i don't know what the others are talking about. your hardware is plenty to run win2k. i got a celeron @ 450 with 192 ram and 7200rpm HD and it runs very nicely. in win98 it doesn't realy use all the ram properly so it wasted money. and i tried winme and it really stinks in my opinion so i quickly went back to 2k.

yeah i got a tnt2, i noticed a little bit of a speed increase from the 5.30 drivers. anyway these guys aren't buggy or anything so i mean, what do you have to lose? if it does'n break it, take it

I got Dr2 to install, I just let it sit at like 99% for like a long time, eventually it went to 100%. Though I think I might have rebooted the computer first before installing, you should try that. Hope that helps.

win2k has those installing bugs... stuff sorta stalls a bit at 99% for me sometimes. but normally if i wait a while it will go to a 100%.

oh, well i have an abit bh6 and a tnt2 16mb running the 5.22 detonators.

so anyone try the 5.30 drivers yet for the D3D support in D2? does it work?

thats odd, i'm running the same versions and it works fine with my system celeron 400@450, 192sdram, sb16...

i'd help if u said what version of half life u had... i have never had any problems with halflife/cs after upgrading to the latest versions. i dont even try without doing so first.

i used to get that error with q2 also till i fixed my reg entries... search for the topic "opengl and quake2" there's a fix for it there..

i never tried upgrading... once it was broken i decided the best thing to do was to start over i didn't touch any of the other devices either, but i tried like 5 different display adapters and none of them would install properly.. always that missing file crap hope you have better luck

mr yellow that happened to me too with the 5.16 drivers... like for some reason my system could no longer install drivers. so i had to format and install it from scratch. i hope you find an alternative.

do you delete the RIVATNT folder/key in the OpenGLDrivers? and then add in the string value?

Anyone have problems with it crashing the 2nd time you run it? I can only run it once, then I'd have to reboot if I want to play it again...
