Okay, I installed the Liveware release and the drivers, all works fine. Usually I have Winamp (2.60) running in the background while I surf the web. Most of the time when a wav sound plays like in Windows or from ICQ, the MP3 starts "jumping", then returns to normal. Any idea's? I think I might go back to the basic driver till Creative sort themselves out. evil Homer ----------- PIII 450 192 Mb RAM Creative TNT2 Ultra SB Live Value.

Thanks for you advice. I tried out both solutions, but still couldn't get it right. So I decided to stick with the Basic WDM driver until Creative come up with something. I read in the creative live newsgroup that Creative maybe having problems getting Directsound to work correctly, which might be why they're delaying their release. Have to wait and see. Thanks for your help evil Homer ------------------ "Screw you guys... I'm going home!"

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm just firing off an email to EA (Like they're going to answer it, but at least I can say I tried) about compatibility between its titles and Microsoft software. I have actually now managed to get two recent EA Sports titles working under Windows 2000. The first being NHL 2000, and FA Premier League Manager 2000. Both work fine, although NHL 2000 is a little slow. As I stated earlier, I have no problem if EA were to clarify the situation, by stating that "NO, FIFA 2000 will not work under Win2k and we intend to do nothing about it", but while they piss around and not say anything, the number of disgruntled customers out there is going to grow and grow. Its not just Fifa 2000, what about Superbikes 2000? Tiger Woods PGA 2000 (Or whatever its called), all big licenses. EA have been the worst so far in terms of compatibility. evil Homer ------------------ "Screw you guys... I'm going home!"

Well the patch didn't work, and its the same file size as the one I tried. I don't think EA are going to do anything about it. I remember when Fifa 98 was out and it took them forever to do anything about the Voodoo2 problem with it crashing at half-time. Why can't EA simply say yes or no that a patch is in the works. If they did that, then fine, but with no answers, its getting very, very stupid. Just my 2 cents evil Homer

Let me know the password etc etc and I'll give it a try, my system is pretty clean. evil Homer ------------------ "Screw you guys... I'm going home!"

Now I'm confused... Eversince RC2, I've never been able to get Fifa2k to run in Win2k. Now, when going to the main page on NT Compatible, someone has posted a result saying it runs fine. Details would be appreciated, as I get an exception error all the time... And I'm sure a lot of people get the same thing. Retail version of Fifa 2000. Windows 2000 (2195) (Game Compatability update) Pentium III 450 Creative Riva TNT2 Ultra (With Creative 3.76 drivers) SB Live (Dell Driver and Liveware) 192 Mb RAM. Someone must be able to run it, if they reckon it works ok. Laters... evil Homer

No, its not the hacked Liveware 3.0, as I did state that in my original post. Its the Dell release from about two days ago, which I painstakingly downloaded all day saturday. I installed it correctly, as I have been building and maintaining PC's for around 6-7 years now. Now, somebody should be able to answer my question. I have since the orignal post removed Liveware and changed the drivers back to the SB Live Basic ones, and funnily enough, Winamp now plays fine. Lets just hope Creative's effort is a bit better next month(s) evil Homer

yep, installed the update. evil Homer

Ok, I downloaded the EA patch 1.0 that was released some time back, and still no success. I've even tried it in software mode, in case it was the TNT causing the problem, but again no success. This is the only thing holding me back from killing Win98 from my system completely. evil Homer

I just tried reinstalling it again under Win2k and it installed okay, allowed me to select my vid card and res. Started up okay, then dropped back to the desktop before the EA Sports intro. Furthest I've got, but not quite where I want to be if you know what I mean. I get the same thing with Superbikes 2000 too. Gets past the EA Sports logo, then drops back to the desktop. The only EA Sports game I've got to work is NHL 2000. This is really annoying now. Whoever it was who got Fifa2k to work, PLEASE provide some details. Cheers. evil Homer

Yep, I've got that problem. Damned character keeps running, even though I'm bashing the right mouse button to stop him running. Very annoying. This is the only case of sticking keys I've come across. evil Homer

Why can't anyone get it right the first time. At last I can set the use of my mouse buttons on my USB Mouseman, but now the mouse wheel refuses to work in games. I tried that patch that Logitech released for the Win9x drivers, and it worked, for about a millisecond in UT before returning to not working. evil Homer

I have no idea. Sorry. Installation went fine for me. I have noticed in the hardware forum that a number of people have been having problems with the new release... Maybe they might be able to give you some better ideas. evil Homer -

Ok, fixed it. Apply the Game_whl.exe patch from Logitech's website and reboot afterwards. Works fine. Laters... evil Homer -
Also the mouse wheel doesn't work in UT, Quake 3 Arena or Homeworld, to name but a few... evil Homer

I've had no problem running on my machine with the retail version of NHL2000. Runs sweet as a peach. True, this is the only EA Sports game I managed to get running. I'm more interested in getting Fifa 2000 running, then I can clear that mistake that is Windows 98se off my hard drive. evil Homer

Go here : http://www.win2knews.com/ Under downloads it has the W2k ASPI update. Place it in your WinNT/system32 directory and everything will work. Laters... evil Homer

Arrggghhh, can't get the damned SOF demo to work at all. Computer just hardlocks and have to hit the reset button. Creative TNT2 Ultra and a PIII 450 (Neither clocked or anything) Everything else runs nice and smoothly. evil Homer.

Okay, problem is that Homeworld refuses to use OpenGL, when I'm sure I've had it working before. It works through Direct3D on the 3.75 and 3.76 drivers, but refuses to accept OpenGL. version of the game is 1.04. Of course, if I'm wrong, then forget my query, but I'm sure I had it working before. Cheers evil Homer

No problems on my setup.

Thanks. Added a few, wait and see if it works or not. evil Homer

Okay, another problem has surfaced. I've setup the settings on the client and the server, but the client still gets randomly disconnected, and I lose messages from people when this happens. Anyone with some solutions to this problem. Both systems are Win2k 2195, ICS sharing with the port numbers and so forth already noted. ICQ99b Latest build 3.19 Rev A on both machines. Cheers evil Homer

Thanks SHS... Better open my eyes next time... LOL evil Homer

Ok, I may be being stupid here, but I suffer from the same problem. I have a Win2k box connecting to the internet, and then my Win2k system connecting via ICS. I've configured the client to the settings above, but where do I set the server settings, as I am unable to figure this out... evil Homer
