I would suggest you check out The White House as soon as you can before they fix it. Especially this link - Patriot Registration

Eh, It mightn't be the real one, but I like it better. Sad thing is, it's more like the truth. Please excuse me for being a cynical Australian, but I don't like Bush. He's far too smug. No man that stupid deserves an 80% approval rating.

Just a request, Please when you make reference to drivers, please post a link to them as well. PLEASE!!!! Not just for NVidia, but for anything. TIA F.

Anyone have any views about SP1 for Office XP? Good or bad?
-
Nobody has bid on his system and it's been open for 7 days. A+ computer tech? Me thinks we have the first contender for the innagural "NTCompatible Scholarship for the development of a clue" awarded to the person who doesn't seem to realise that their computer is out of date from the first time it posts. I just realised, he wants $AU10,000 for this machine. I wonder if you can cook and egg on this one?
-
Okay, I thought I had this solved. However, the machine is still hanging with two DirectX games. These are: MS Combat FS2 Max Payne In Half-Life, DirectX performance at 1024*768 is choppy and staggered compared to OpenGL performance at 1024*768. OpenGL works so damn fine in Half-Life and 4x4 Evolution 2. This is my quandry. 1. Do i send the card back under the pretense that it is faulty (remembering I've used all the drivers and still have the problem)? 2. Do I re-install again in the hope that it's a Windows füçk up and it wil be fixed with a re-install. TIA.

I recently (3 days ago) bought this processor and converter to go into my AOpen AX6B without fully checking compatibility. AS a consequence, it won't work and I have no use for it and am looking to sell it. I paid $210 for the chip and $20 for the converter and I would like to sell the stuff to recoup my money. Anyone in Australia who wants it, drop me a line here or PM me. As a side note, I got a PIII 450 (Slot 1) instead. At least I still got my GeForce2. Email m_g_byrn"at"yahoo.com TIA

My fav is Trillian.

I don't think so. I bought it from a local retailer (he's a mate of mine). However, cause I've opened it and attempted to use it I'm stuffed. There's nothing wrong with it, it was just a case of me assuming it would work so it's tough luck. On a lighter note, a friend of mine wants the processor for the machine he's building for his Girlfriend. I lose some money, but I'll put that down to "stupid tax". I'm going to use the money to buy a Steering Wheel and 56k modem.

The program is TV-Tool version 6 beta. Available at Home of TV-Tool There's also version 5.5.3. Both versions work really well in delivering non-Macrovosion TV signals via the TV out on most cards. I use it with my GeForce2 and the picture is really clear. This is one program I was happy to pay $AU20 for.
-
Well I worked it out. The program I used to watch DVD's on my TV was conflicting. Despite the fact the this program works really well in the 2D world, it conflicts in the 3D world. I simply stopped it from loading on startup and all is well. Thanks anyway.

I tried the 23.11's once with my TNT2. They gave me no end of curry with everything, esp DX games. Thus I vowed to steer clear of them.
-
I used to have the same problem under NT4. It happened when I installed the AOpen bus mastering drivers rather than just using the MS ones. Hope this is of some help.
-
After installing the 27.42 drivers which fixed some DVD shakiness issues, the machine doesn't blue screen now, it just hangs. It only hangs with some DirectX games though. It hangs with: Max Payne and MS Combat FS2 (both DX) Is doesn't hang with: Need for Speed 5 (DX) I don't understand this. Should I update my VideoCard BIOS. My m/board has the latest BIOS. TIA.

Many researchers suggest (with the backup of much evidence) that the stirup contributed a great deal to the development of a class heirarchy in European society. The printing press did much the same. _____________________________ However it is the idea of the class system, Artharian England and Monty Python that has got me sold on the stirup. ARTHUR Old woman! DENNIS Man! ARTHUR Man. I'm sorry. Old man, What knight live in that castle over there? DENNIS I'm thirty-seven. ARTHUR What? DENNIS: I'm thirty-seven ... I'm not old. ARTHUR: Well - I can't just say: "Hey, Man!' DENNIS Well you could say: "Dennis" ARTHUR I didn't know you were called Dennis. DENNIS You didn't bother to find out, did you? ARTHUR I've said I'm sorry about the old woman, but from the behind you looked ... DENNIS What I object to is that you automatically treat me like an inferior ... ARTHUR Well ... I AM king. DENNIS Oh, very nice. King, eh! I expect you've got a palace and fine clothes and courtiers and plenty of food. And how d'you get that? By exploiting the workers! By hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the social and economic differences in our society! If there's EVER going to be any progress ... An OLD WOMAN appears. OLD WOMAN Dennis! There's some lovely filth down here ... Oh! how d'you do? ARTHUR How d'you do, good lady ... I am Arthur, King of the Britons ... can you tell me who lives in that castle? OLD WOMAN King of the WHO? ARTHUR The Britons. OLD WOMAN Who are the Britons? ARTHUR All of us are ... we are all Britons. DENNIS winks at the OLD WOMAN. ... and I am your king .... OLD WOMAN Ooooh! I didn't know we had a king. I thought we were an autonomous collective ... DENNIS You're fooling yourself. We're living in a dictatorship, A self-perpetuating autocracy in which the working classes ... OLD WOMAN There you are, bringing class into it again ... DENNIS That's what it's all about ... If only - ARTHUR Please, please good people. I am in haste. What knight lives in that castle? OLD WOMAN No one live there. ARTHUR Well, who is your lord? OLD WOMAN We don't have a lord. ARTHUR What? DENNIS I told you, We're an anarcho-syndicalist commune, we take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week. ARTHUR Yes. DENNIS ... But all the decision of that officer ... ARTHUR Yes, I see. DENNIS ... must be approved at a bi-weekly meeting by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs. ARTHUR Be quiet! DENNIS ... but a two-thirds majority ... ARTHUR Be quiet! I order you to shut up. OLD WOMAN Order, eh -- who does he think he is? ARTHUR I am your king! OLD WOMAN Well, I didn't vote for you. ARTHUR You don't vote for kings. OLD WOMAN Well, how did you become king, then? ARTHUR The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held Excalibur aloft from the bosom of the water to signify by Divine Providence ... that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur ... That is why I am your king! OLD WOMAN Is Frank in? He'd be able to deal with this one. DENNIS Look, strange women lying on their backs in ponds handing out swords ... that's no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. ARTHUR Be quiet! DENNIS You can't expect to wield supreme executive power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you! ARTHUR Shut up! DENNIS I mean, if I went around saying I was an Emperor because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, people would put me away! ARTHUR (Grabbing him by the collar) Shut up, will you. Shut up! DENNIS Ah! NOW ... we see the violence inherent in the system. ARTHUR Shut up! PEOPLE (i.e. other PEASANTS) are appearing and watching. DENNIS (calling) Come and see the violence inherent in the system. Help, help, I'm being repressed! ARTHUR (aware that people are now coming out and watching) Bloody peasant! (pushes DENNIS over into mud and prepares to ride off) DENNIS Oh, Did you hear that! What a give-away. Monty Python's Completely Useless Web Site

felix replied to insaNity's topic in Legacy OS
To install the enhancements, you'll need to get hold of a copy of IE 4.x IE5 didn't offer interface enhancements. -
Check http://www.download.com for a program called "File Scavenger". I use it and it's damn good. Only for NTFS though. Hope it works.

Why is it that we do not see many "Geek code blocks" anymore? The last one I saw was attached to a Unix Guru's email sig. I think they are a great way of confusing users/lamers.

I heard that those pretzels were making him thristy..... Anyhow, I reckon they must be made from a 40/60 mix of Arabic/Palestinian wheat and the salt comes from Iraq. - I am joking.

Just hit the "new posts" link and they appeared in preview mode. How do I make it stay the way permanently. It looks good. BUMP

Quote: Everybody have a good one. (And try not to get too drunk;)) Merry Christmas to you too Brian, and everyone here. Peace be with you all, your families and (hopefully) the whole world. I won't be getting drunk tonight. Half of NSW is on fire and I've been put on standby to go off to some unknown fire. Hope I get to eat the turkey first!!!!
