You need to overwrite those supposed newer drivers for the DX upgrade to work. It should have said something like that in the readme that came with the update file. Anyways, do it again, and say yes to all the files, then cancel when it asks for the 2k CD after the install is complete. Reboot and it's done. DXDiag will report some files not correct etc etc, just ignore it. I doubt this is gonna fix your prob, because I have a TNT2 and it all worked good in 2128 with the 3.53 drivers, even b4 I applied the DX upgrade. But then again, I have been surprised more than once reading this forum!!

Well, I haven't noticed much of a difference since 2176. All issues I had, sound, scsi card, were all fixed in prior builds, so I can't realy tell you what the major improvements are. From what I'm aware, it's only small bug fixes, no new drivers or features.

I have a problem when dialing into my ISP. They have 2 numbers, one which works fine, although is engaged 99% of the time and teh otehr, well it just won't work. When it comes up loggin onto network, that's as far as it gets. It drops out and says that server failed to assign IP address. MY ISP has told me "beta.... beta.... beta....", cannot support blah blah blah, but one guy there did say that he's seen this prob and it was a win 2k bug. Anyone know of this, more importantly, know how to fix it?

Basically, NO you don't have d3d. I'm not sure about DV 330, is it tnt? if so do you have the 3.53+ drivers (3.53 works better than 3.56 for me) if not, go get em!

Drivers for this card and the PCI64 were pretty bad for RC2 and prior releases. if you can get your hands on a newer build, they get better each time. I have 2176 and have no probs with sound anymore. ICQ me and I'll see if I can dig you up a driver set if you can get a new release

well, i fixed my lil prob, had to edit the cfg file manually and change cg_draw3dicons to 0

I have the old prob of only being able to see around the head and it hangin during a game. cg_draw3dicons = 0 won't work in console. any ideas??

Well man, nothing to lose, only somethign to gain. I've had to reinstall that many times, I can do it all with my eyes closed. Mya I suggest creating a seperate partition for backup and use the other for your OS

OK man, the prob you're probably having is that you tried to isntall thseo NT drivers first. I did this for sound and there was no way to revert bac, I had to install all over again. what is this 3.53.exe?? http://seldzar.dhs.org/ go there and get the 3.53 zip, unzip it and update driver with this. If it don't work, mebe nuke it and start over.

According to Adaptec, 3.5 works fine under 2k. You'll need to go get a patch for it off their site however. Should fix ya right up

OK man I had the same prob. First of all Tekram SCSI cards are KRAP!! I have the DC-310, I scrapped it and got a decend adaptec card which all works fine now. My old one works fine, in that i can use my burner as as standard CD rom, but be blown if I can burn. Tekram say it's 2000 compat, which is aload of KRAP as you have found out. It just will not work wiht ASPI currently. Solution: Get a better SCSI card in the meantime, or wait till Tekram make some useable driver. Otherwise, have a 98/NT dual boot and burn using that. That's what i had to do Sorry man, I know this is definately NOT what you wanted to hear, but the truth hurts

Ok man this prob is pretty east to fix goto the properties of your dial-up connection, then click on networking tab. Click on settings and make sure that enable software compression is the only one checked. Negotiate Multilink......... is the actual culpurate good luck

When you installed 2151 was it installed as an update?? Did you install over the top of a previous install of 2k/NT4?? Is it installed on the same partition as 95/98/NT?? If yes to any of those, I had the same problem, I had to format to rectify this problem, I suggest you mebe do the same if this is the case

I had to format and reinstall 2k/3.53 to get full function again. Quake3 and rogue spear gave me heaps of grief even after a clean install, format was the only way!

Forget the 3.56 drivers, I had to format and reinstall to get full function from 3.53 again
