Well, I did the fix about 5 days ago now, but suddenly the built in BULL*HIT file protection has decided to kick in and replace all the updated DX8 files. It only took it 5 days to realise, but hey that's MS for ya. How on earth do you turn this crap off so I can play my games properly once again?!??!?!! Great fix, pitty about MS idea of system control.

I 'only' have 128 MB ram, but UT works bweaudifully!! There was a tweaks page posted some time ago, that had all the stuff you need to get it running just nicely. One of the biggest tweak/improvements, was at the console, type 'preferences' and look for paging, set it to off, then restart the game. There are numerous other tweaks, but I cannot recall them off the top of my head right now. Stay tuned.............. I'M BACK.... I have the same sort of modem, and somewhat similar problems back with RC2. hmm I had this once, turned out someone didn't like my FTP, so uploaded a virus to me. Things went all crazy with folder names and there was no way to remove them all.

I've installed them, without any mojor hitch. Not much to them, you just seem to get the creative software. Only problem I have, is that I get a program crash at startup. I just searched the filename out in the registry and nuked it. all seems OK now. The file IS related to the drivers somehow, I think with the CD autoplay features it tries to implement.

I run servers all the time. Haven't changed anything vital in the settings. Do they get a connection error, or a version missmatch error?? I've posted b4 on up[censored] rogue spear for 2k, search it out and read that. get your buddies to do it also. I have the exact same problem! It's some kind of video related issue. I used to get the same choppyness with Q3, now I get it with SOF. Only way I found to get it working, was to format and reinstall, with Q3 the first thing I installed, after the video drivers. Problem seem to have got better as drivers have matured, but now SOF decides it doesn't wanna play nicely!! Well, I have a TNT2, that could be why mine is working and yours ain't. Try hunting around and see if your drivers are actually the latest ones out. Good luck guys

Doesn't work how??? At all, controlls, video, sound, what?? Install it. the create a Mplayer account. Go into the full version Rogue Spear lounge, and wait a ffew seconds. it will scan your installation and tell you it requires up[censored]. let it do it's stuff and it will all be good. I believe there is an option in Tweaki for power users that does that. I'm sure I used it once, and it worked a treat.
