Does installing Win2k using ACPI mode as opposed to Standard
Jerry - replied to pr-man's topic in Hardware
During the Win2k install it will determine if you have ACPI enabled in the bios. If you do not it will install as standard PC, automatically. -
Quantus really thinks windows 2000 sucks? Tell us how he is
Jerry - replied to Arin's topic in Hardware
Windows 2000 would'nt do that with him even if he paid it $50 and let it film it thats how. ------------------ He does'nt want to talk anymore, realy, he's done talking, he's leaving the building -
Did you ever take the time to think that maybe windows 2000 thinks you suck?

Umm yes it stops : ( there's not even a readme and no setup.exe in the setup folder, something we kinda need for a setup to run.

Uhhh they give you a network card for the modem, hence no dynamic IP. Did you expect pacbell software to work, at all? Better get back on the short yellow school bus.
-
I have pacbell dsl, they should give you an external acatel modem so you should be able to use it with any nic that works with win2k, in my case I got a 'free' kingston 10/100 that comes with nt drivers and works fine in 2k.
-
Yes, my sblive, nic, usb controller and tnt all are on irq 9, according to Device mgr and Pcilist. Even though they're set otherwise in the bios.

Did you try reinstalling it and Halflife together? If so did you patch halflife to 1015 from the patch on the Opfor cd? And Trust me you'll get nothing but trouble if you run a warez or hosed version of halflife with Opforce
-
I put in the dell liveware and have not a problem, I also put in the Sblive A3d software drivers from aureal for sheets and giggles. Are'nt these drivers for win98?? Oh well, In quakeIII I selected A3d and lo and behold it actualy seemed to make A3d sound, don't know what it should sound like but it was 3d sound. without to much of a performance hit at that. Question is does anyone know if this works at all or with any other game? I'm about to go try Halflife. Is there even any way to uninstall these drivers if they hose me down?

To disable netbios, go into services and kill Workstation, Server, Computer Browser and NetBIOS helper. Then get into TCP/IP props (Network icon in sys tray, for me at least) advanced> Wins> And select disable Netbios over Tcp/Ip

Spelling with numbers is wrong.

Did you buy your copy of windows 2000

my BH6 and current asus p2b makes the agp and first pci slot share the same irq, thus in the bios IRQ assign must be selected, I don't know if it's the same with all boards (aside of 440bx) but it probaly is
-
Yes system idle does'nt work with dual cpu's, for that you need cpuidle. But since there are no dual k7 systems around, hence system idle process.
-
Hahahahaha
-
Ja, My load time is'nt a problem either. To view your fps put "drawfps 1" in the config, it won't work if you put it in the console. I only have the qiii demo but to run demo1 you type timedemo demo001.
-
You only need those if you are running windoze98, nt/2k have system idle process built in which halts the cpu and uses about 16kb of memory.

Hahahahahahaa

Asus V3800 Ultra Deluxe - can't get it working under Win2k P

Did you enable 'assign vga IRQ' in your bios? -
Nvidia's 3.78 drivers and Win2k? Did they work for ya?
Jerry - replied to Quantus's topic in Hardware
Working great, infact a little better than the last. Galilee, Releasing drivers with a control panel would involve work. -
