Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh Yeah I just survived the **** of this. It took me three days to get win2k installed again but here it is. It all started when I tried to update the 5.13's over themselves, but afterwards not only could I not upgrade my video drivers at all, but no other drivers either!!! Edit: Anyone know if this starts to happen when you uninstall the Nvidia drivers through Add-Remove programs? [This message has been edited by Jerry - (edited 15 April 2000).] -
I'm having a problem here with my joystick. The one that hooks into the gameport.. allrighty. I have build 2195.no expiration version, and am using the default win2k drivers for my Sblive. A Microsoft Sidewinder (Not 3d or pro) hooked up to a y cable with some pedals. Problem is that in the Game Controllers control panel the joystick using the Microsoft Sidewinder (Auto Detect) driver, the joystick switches from Not connected to OK every five seconds. And it only stays at ok for about one second. It does this connected directly or with the y cable. And come to think of it, it always did this with RC3 and Liveware 3 / hack installed. With liveware installed and not the gameport is listed as "game port for creative sb live!". While this does'nt exactly have me at my rapier's wits end, this is pretty annoying. Thanks for any help!

I'm running smp and the sound is like ****e since I downgraded to 128mb of ram. It should'nt matter since all the games I have use the 1 cpu should it?
-
I run a warezed win2k 2195 without the timebomb. With a dsl line it's easy to get. If I could find someone that would sell it for $40 bucks I'd buy it. Thats how I got NT4...
-
Thats because their kept in the temporary internet files, Nooo. Not realy a bug just a kind of dumb place for them to be programed to. I just messed around with my IE Favorites and wondered if anyone has found any solution?

Lockups, Lockups Lockups. It also disables ACPI for win2k, until you 86 the drivers. Theres a .cpl file in there so they might be kind of good on NT.
-
You need the QQ bios on your BP6 for not only USB to function properly but fur ACPI too. Of course if you flash you need to repair w2k. Look for a thread that went into this at length in this section.
-
The drivers are fine, you probaly don't have enough RAM. I only have 128mb now and sounds in all games are ****ty, even Q3 which does'nt use eax. When I had the extra 64 it sounded great. Needless to say I'm getting more
-
These drivers are faster for geforces. < That's a period. And the only crashes I've had were in halflife after a half and hour, and that's when I'm running my 366's at 600. Unlike the 3.78's which would'nt even work half the time. Quake3 and UT are great. Just can't get SMP to work in the Q3 demo AT ALL, of course that's probaly because of something stupid like theres no smp in the demo.
-
I'm a bit surprised that the asus smartdoctor program that came with my 6800 works on win2000. It's pretty kool except for the popups it does, is there anyway to keep it from popping up like that??
-
And they don't even install!
-
If you have the NJ bios installed right now you will need to flash up to QQ in able to use ACPI with win2k.
-
That's right elkstreme
-
UT looks great! These are MUCH better than the 3.78 crash happy drivers, so far

Get em here: ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/beta/bp6/driver/366_1231_W2K.zip To everyone talking and complaining (including me) about no hibernation, it works now on my bp6. Standby also seems to work except it does'nt shut the disks off, it's getting there! ------------------ He does'nt want to talk anymore, realy, he's done talking, he's leaving the building
-
Yep running mps 1.4 too. Goodluck acid
-
Gotta turn off "remember each folders view settings" before you select list!
-
Mr yellow, Yes I boot off a Quantum ata66 drive. That 1.24 thing is kinda odd is'nt it?
-
Yep I get those wierd effects as well. The barnacles in halflife are all messed up since I put the Asus 3.79 drivers in. Does'nt seem to happen when the card is'nt OCed though
-
I am waiting. I drove by the creative labs headquarters in Milpitas CA the other day, they had mysterious tinted windows on the building... I used to be that way too, but when you have alot less time to notice anything wrong you care less

Quantus really thinks windows 2000 sucks? Tell us how he is

Is that your opinion Gryphin? -
Hmmm can't use hibernation? I guess I'm a lucky one then, it works fine. I have both my drives on the first ATA66 channel and a nice squeaky clean install of win2k with a BP6/QQ I bought last thursday, if that makes a difference. [This message has been edited by Jerry - (edited 16 March 2000).]

It's pretty much trial and error with the drivers, they all worked with my tnt so I don't know. Disabling agp in dxdiag and running HL in opengl might might help
-
Do you have eax enabled? I find it can not run if eax is on without the beta liveware.
