RC2 seem smoother than Win98 but its !#@%*& hard to see what to blast away at!!!! The gamme slider seems not to work at all - any workarounds? BTW: Det 356 drivers seem to be broken - had to go back to 352 to beat the hanging prob after ID logo startup. Cheers, RichardW

I did all those. BTW : even in safe mode, 1 or more DLLs won't copy because they are being used. Is this normal? Can't recall which ones. devcon32.dll I think. Bummer dude. RE: Locked up Live3 setup... It is almost as if the setup is failing while checking the config at the very start. Do you know what _ISDEL.EXE does? Cheers, RichardW

SHS, I have an Sblive value. Cool under 98SE, and I have basic sound support running on RC2 2128 except that Realjukebox won't record MP3s (plays OK though) Live3, however will not get past the first bit of setup. _DEL and another executable hang and require zapping with the task manager. It would be great if you could shed some light on the matter Cheers, RichardW

I went through the now very clear instructions again last night. I have 2 differences straight away. 1 - My existing (running) drivers do not have (WDM) in the name. 2 - I am running build 2128 Plus I am not sure if the latest instructions require a specific starting position or not. Cheers

I'm still trying hard to like RC2. I have one ISP (of 3) that I can't connect to for some reason (All OK on the dual boot Win98SE) I can't burn CDs on my ACER 4x4x32 Liveware3 for the SB Live won;t istall No drivers for my USB scanner Apart from that ... I love it (really!) smoother and quicker than 98SE pretty good PNP support Like especially love the fact that my MP3s do not hang when I open/shut the CDROM drawer. I am hanging out to get quad sound working properly though and that last ISP .... Cheers, RichardW

Igor - I suspect you may be missing the point. Getting all the Live3 goodies working on a uni-processor Rc2 box seems problematic. I can get basic sound support OK with some messing around but I still can run setup from the downloaded Liveware3. HAngs bafore the s/w is installed. Cheers

DocSilly is not the only one !!! I have the same symptoms. Actually I have fudged it through the hanging SETUP once cleaning out all old Live directories, registry keys and unistalling the h/w. Even after all this I run setup ok but all the Live3 apps still hang immediately. Plus worst of all, the previously working drivers got stuck into some sort of default reverb!!! All my MP3s sounded like they were playing on a cheap transister!!! Sound still works though - bugger!! W98SE with LIVE2 is cool on the same dual boot box so the pnp is OK. Any ideas? Oh BTW, if I follow the instructions in the patch exactly, I get a boot failure loading the EMU1000 driver. Real fatal, SAFE cannot load either, luckily I can access the NT partition (FAT!!!) and zap the driver to boot into NT and re-load the driver. Cheers

Yup - It (RC2 & W98SE) worx ok on my Epox VIA Apollo Pro 133 board. P3-550 110mhz Some queer stuff with SBlive OEM still (despite the fix posted in this forum) Cheers, RichardW email zardos@clear.net.nz if you have some other questions
