    Easy CD Creator 3.5b

Ok I just got my new CD-R and the software it came with is Adaptec's Easy CD Creator Software version 3.5b. Now from what I've read in these messages, 3.5c seems to work and so does 4.0. What I would like to know is where I can get an upgrade to these workable versions and anything else I need to do to get the CD-R to work under Win 2K RC2. Thanks

Can't get Half-Life to work.... at all!!!

What kind of system are you running? I have a P3@500mhz with 320mb of Ram and a Voodoo 3 3000. Half-Life has been the easiest game to get running. I'm using the Voodoo 3 drivers that are posted at http://seldzar.dhs.org/ Maybe there you can find some help.

Q3A Demo Test... no go for anyone else?

Well I haven't run into any of these errors yet as I can't install the game. No matter where I download the install file from, as it unpaks it gets a CRC error always in the same place. I'm wondering if its a NTFS problem or something. Anyone else experience this?

    Half Life networking error

Well I tried running a dedicated server lastnight on WON. My roomate connected over our LAN connection and a couple people connected via WON and the Internet. Despite the error message that we all have recieved, the game seemed to run quite smoothly. The only time this error actually affects anything is when I try to run a server I can actually play on with my computer (not a dedicated machine). So I'm not sure what this means but I think its probably just a small bug.

    Internet Conenction Sharing (how-to + a Q.)

Well Tim's way will work because at my work that is the way we have it set up and I believe it is because Proxy takes care of the internet connection sharing for you if you configure it correctly. My roomates and I have 3 computers on a network, mine being the server with a cable modem connection. I have two net cards, one configured for the cable modem and one for the LAN. The LAN is set up for DHCP, DNS, and, Active Directory, and IIS is installed and configured. I'm using Win 2K RC2 Advanced Server. To correctly configure the Internet Connection Sharing, I just had to click the box for sharing the connection. This completely set up NAT and authentication and addressing for the other 2 computers on my network. For the other two computers, everything is set by my server. Their IP, Subnet, Gateway and Domain is all gotten dynamically. It all worked great until one day one of the computers on the LAN sharing the connection couldn't access the net anymore even though the other one could, and this was without me changing anything on my server. Then about 4 days later the same thing happened to the other computer. I couldn't get it up and working again until I redid the IP's for the local network. My only reasoning for this is that somehow the Lease on the IP's for the other computers ran out even though it told me in DHCP that their leases were set to never run out. Well I know that was long so I hope you can get something out of that. I've had a lot of experience with this so you can e-mail me if you need more help.

    Half Life networking error

Well there is no way for you to join a dedicated server and not let other people join. The only way for you to do that is to have your own server and make a password required to join. Usually you can find good servers with a good ping, and usually other players that join will have a good ping as well. If someone has a really bad ping you can either join another server or try and kick that person off by voting.

    Half Life networking error

I too have run into that error myself. I seem to be able to run LAN multiplayer games fine and do not run into it, but if I try and run a server or dedicated server that error pops up ever so frequently. I can play on WON fine, however. I have a feeling that it is an IPX issue with Half-Life and Win2k. Should be fixed later on in Win2K or there will be a new exe from Sierra.
  8. Hi Everyone, I'm trying to get both Voodoo 3 drivers and directx drivers installed on my Win 2k system. I've got RC2 Build 2128. It seems that I can have either Direct 3D or Glide and OpenGL working but not both at the same time. I've tried following directions on the FAQ on the page of this site but it hasn't worked for me. Any ideas? Thanks
