hi w2k insists on these items all shareing irq7, hpt370 udma100 raid controler,soundblasterlive,nvidia geforce gts,intel pro100 network card,and both via usb channels,acpi is on within the bios and sb/live is in pci slot6 ,on abitkt7raid,network card is pci#4 ,the machine seems to run okay at the moment,it was not so ,until i diabled both com ports to give some more irq space then when i checked the irq situationof all shareing irq7 occurred though i change the setting re the com ports back inthe bios it did no good,all i can say right now is arghhh any advis e appreciated

hi thx,i tryed that but still no luck i must have been doing some thing wrong,i ended up gettin the 1251 htp366 driverupdate from the abit site for the bp6 under win2k and doing a fresh install,and this time i got it to install no probs,useing win2k server,however i still had probs from time to time when win2k rebooted it would hang and during defrag would hang,but i think that was my fault,i prb botched a file somewhere with all my messing around,other than that thing went well games ran well etc,prob with sp1 and 2 it would run even betta,seems the hpt366 drivers for win2k frm the hpt site are not the ones to use,the abit ones work though,i ened up takeing win2k i,lll try it again later maybe i had a boot sector virus,maybe the drivers still have probs ------------------ braxanna

help,i,m trying to get my ata66 drive running under w2k,ive setup with the setup floppys,put the driber in etc,done the same with boot from cd setup too,every thing go well until the last reboot then i get the w2k blue screen,this is my 4th install today,i,ve got ot running on the ata33 at the moment,useing a bp6 mobo 128mb ram,nothing special,anyone know ho to handle this? i had the same prob with nt4 for a while but got around it by doing f6,but that dont work on win2k,well it dos but ,not at the the final reboot,thx

hi well reinstalled ,but still no luck i made sure that thyer 3dfx opgl file was in system file and also put it in q3 folder,but still no luck,it bizare,what has occured ,i tired another 3dfx card [v3000] as well and had the same problem,perhaps i need to make some sort of setting on winnt? ------------------ braxanna

hi,well tryed that,cept 3dfx nolonger has any mini gl drivers posted on thier site,but pasted the 3dfxogl into the quake 3 directory its driveing me nuts as i never have had this prob before,i,m useing ntserver with service pak 6a,i,ve tried the latest drivers and tyred all the archive drivers as well ------------------ braxanna

hi,at the moment i have just set up a raid 0, array 2x20 gig ibm,s,i have win98 installed,and will be dual booting with win2ks,and nt4s when i get some more ram,my problem is when i go to boot off the win98 floppy,then select start pc with crom surport,things goe okay until it gets to a point where it say"scanning pci bus with mechanism 2"and thats where it stays i can see the floppy light on.and i,ve got away for ten minutes but still the same message "useing pci mechanism 2 to scan pci bus,anyone know whats happening,or what i need to do? thanks ------------------ braxanna

hi,is it possible to play open gl and glide games under nt4 server[not workstation]such as q2 q3 and ut and unreal?useing 3dfx cards, i know they play under nt4 workstation okay,but want to set up a home server to study nt4 server and use it for a terminal to play lan games as well,does the nt4 service pack cover nt server as well? thanks for your help ------------------ braxanna

hi,how do the new detonater drivers handle smp in win2k with q3,in the past i,d seen that running q3 in smp in win2k caused a performance drop,has this changed now?,i know that in winnt with an old tnt2 i got 75 fps,by the way how is ut running in win2k,i mean to go out and get a geforce,but not sure whether its the right time yet,thx ------------------ braxanna

i found out the cause ,it just the dum motorola sm56 software modem,tryed a netcomm software/hareware modem and it fine now,actually the netcomm modem in5692,runs beaut is dirt cheap and has drivers for win2k ------------------ braxanna

hey,i like shogo,i first tryed to run it under win2k beta 3,with voodoo 3 3000,no luck,then tryed it under win2k rc2 v3 3000,still no go,then swaped video cards,used a freinds tnt2,with the nividia refernce drivers,and wow no probs,ran absolutley beaut,and most full directx games will it seems,so shogo,s a goer but only if ya got a tnt,seems as usaul driver surport 3dfx cards sux,
