Do you really think that Feb 17th, drivers will support ALL hardware feather ? I mean, just have a look at NT drivers. Many hardware don't have ALL their feather supported. So why should it be different with Win2k ? Awx

You can fix the shortcuts prob with PMagic. It will redirectd every shortcut to the right disc. btw, Nova, you are pretty patient to take that long to explain things that people should be able to understand by themselves. Have you overclocked your CPU ???? A friend found a way to cheat in UT in multiplayer game : while loading UT, he o/cked is CPU (his mb can make hot CPU clock change), so UT was running believing to be on a 66 MHz instead of 100MHz. So while playing UT, this little bastard was running 50% faster, firing 50% faster and so on. This can be the solution. Awx

SB Live ;-) I have SB PCI 128. Works fine, cheap (l<20$), but no 3D sound under Win2k (I mean under Win98, I had 4 way speakers : frontleft, frontright, rearleft, rearright but oinly front left frontright with Win2k). Awx

I've the same prob : I can't access my SaMBa sharing. But my SaMBa does not support encrypted pwd. Under Win98 with EnablePlainTextPassword, I was able to access it but with the same trick, it still does not work (btw, the DWORD isn't the same under Win2k). Anyway, I can't access my SaMBa. I'll be interested with the answer. Awx

What do you mean ??? Imagine Win98 is on your fisrt HD (bootable). When you boot, it loads boot.ini from this HD, then it displays the menu. There you choose Win2k that is on your second HD (don't need to be bootable). I understood that you want to swap the order of your HD and have the choice of OS on both. But why do you want your 2 HD to be dual-boot ? One is enough. I have one IDE bootable drive and then 4 differents OS (1 Win98, 2 Win2k and 1 Millenuim) on 4 different HD. Only one is bootable and it's enough. And if you swap your HD, the letter won't be the same and your shortcuts will go crazy. Play Q3 ! First, what renderer do U use under UT : OpenGL or D3D ? If it's D3D, test it with dxdiag. In a second hand, 64 Mb is very small for Win2k AND UT : UT takes a lot of RAM. I have 2 sound card under Win2k working perfectly. Why ? cos I have an old SB AWE64 ISA and newer SB PCI128. Everything is working perfectly, without a prob. I can swith from one to an other for input and output when I want. Awx

How can i make the user that want to log on to choose in a drop down menu the user he want to log on. I mean, under Mac OS 9, there a menu with all registered users and you just click on the one you wanna log onto and if you need a pwd, it just asks. Is there's a extension or a stuff like that ??? Buy a new card .... ;-) What build is your Win2k ??? Since the RC2 my TNT2 have been properly recognize and I was able to change screen size and color but DDrw, D3D and OGL weren't there. For those one, I had to try differents version and the fisrt one that worked perfectly was 3.52. Then I jumped to 3.56 with 3.52 OGL under RC3. I'm actuallly 3.66 without prob with 2195iso. Awx

It was the same for me. The last time I tried to boot under 98, I crashed just before being able to do anything. but I had to cos I wanted to use my TVout feature. Just after, I quit definitively. 4 of my 5 disks are now full NTFS and I'm beginning using security rights for the differents users of my computer. I find this system really usefull and even more powerfull than on Unix cos Unix can only make the difference betwen you, your workgroup and the rest of the world. There, you can define rights for one user, group of users and so on. I haven't tried Win2k Server yet (workstation from september) but I will perhaps try one day, just for the fun of configuring the different users right (you CAN'T do that !) Awx - root@himself
