Same pb here with a sidewinder 3D pro, SBlive, BH6 1.0x, PIII800e - with win2kSP1 and DX8 and lw3 drivers -> blinks from connected to disconnected every two seconds ! - with winme DX7a, SW3.02 + original SBLive drivers -> OK ! - with winme DX7a, SW3.02 + lw3 SBLive drivers -> NOK I used to believe it was due to DX8 with win2k, then due to FSB>66Mhz but now it fails with lw3 SBlive drivers under winme... I m lost !!! I got in touch with someone at MS for this pb but no answer now ! HELP !! -
Hi ! As posted recently, i may suggest if you had netmeeting installed to disable the remote desktop sharing feature. When enabled, it disable D3D acceleration !! I had this pb myself and cured it by turning this netmeeting service OFF. Hope this help !
-
It was not quite the same pb : directdraw was enabled but D3D and AGP were grayed out. And it really was Netmeeting Desktop Remote Sharing Service which was guilty for me !! Just stop the service and "voilà" (you US guys are really funny to me when you use this french word . You don't even need to reboot.

Hi ! You ll find these information with CPUCool. But as it is a shareware, you ll find have to pay for.

Really ? Netmeeting ? I can't try to disable this sharing feature right now (i m at work but you may be right, i also used netmeeting after upgrading... I hope it is !!! Thanx a lot for sharing this tip anyway ! Bout.

Hi ! I've got the same pb here. A kind of mix like yours : BH6 rev 1.0 & win2k + new SS bios and back to QN + DX8 140 then 146 + Det 6.18 = no more D3D acceleration but i don't know when and why it went wrong exactly. i just discovered the pb when trying to play a game demo a few days later i made all the changes. I don't know if it deals with the BIOS (SoftFSB doesn't like SS bios) but i m sure it doesn't with UT patch (I'm a Quaker only :-P) I tried to uninstall DX8 back to 7a + Det 5.xx + bios QN but it seems like win2k (DLL ? registry ?) is definitely broken. I'll wait for a solution on NG and forum for a while b4 a clean install of win2k.

Well, i have a TNT 1 and RC3 for now.. For those who had pb upgrading to a newer version of drivers... I deleted in winnt\inf folder all nv*.inf AND OEM0.INF which is a copy of my current version of Nvidia drivers (3.64 on my system)! Then just updated to 3.75 (without even uninstalled before !) and it works for me ! So, maybe you should look at those oemx.inf files, find the nvidia one and delete it before upgrading... hope it 'd help some of you...

Hi guys ! i already posted about prob to make this webcam work under win2000 RC2 but had no answers... But let's try again ! :-) Does someone know something about beta drivers from Creative ..? Or whatever could help me ! thanx for reading me !

Thanx for the tip chameleon, i didn't know that... BTW, to correct Q3A glitching, with 3.56 RC2, you should replace the nvoglnt.dll by the 3.64 one ! it works great for me ! But you try to change the nv4_disp.dll and/or nv4_mini.sys it fails at start up... Hope it will help RC2 users and Q3A fans !

year, i had same problem here with RC2 and TNT 1. I tried to install 3.64 but win2000 warning me and then restart in VGA safe mode... I get back to 3.56. BTW, i have problem with Q3A and glitching 3D artifacts on bottom of screen with 3.56 Seems 3.64 correct this. Too bad.

Hi all ! I bought a brand new creative USB webcam III which works fine on WIN98 with WDM drivers installed. But i can't install them on WIN2000. when i try, they require to run "Runddl32" which doesn't exist on WIN2000 anymore. I copied this file onto win2000 directory but it fails anyway... i guess WDM drivers should work on WIN2000 and i think it s only a matter of .INF file... but i don't know how to install these drivers manually. My conf is a 300a@450 with a TNT, SBLive, RC2 and an unknown USB device !! Thanks for reading me and my french accent !
