    REWARD for ACPI INFO

I have an Aopen AX6BC Pro Gold motherboard. It supports ACPI in win98 with the setup switch /pj. However in win2k build 2195 it says Standard PC. I installed win2k on a PC at work and it says ACPI PC. I didnt have to use a setup switch or change any drivers, it just worked. SO how can i get it to work with my ACPI motherboard. I tried changing the driver to ACPI uniprocessor. Which didnt work, I had to repair. I was going to try just ACPI PC instead of uniprocessor. Thought i would ask first. Thanks oh and reward is karma.

    3.66 driver here

look for a BIOS update for your motherboard and SCSI card. And make sure your using the right drivers. And read the instructions. It has to be something you have done cause most PCs arent that ****ed up. Just go back to default for all your BIOS settings and try upgradeing the BIOS sometimes that helps IRQ problems and other ****. Also your SCSI card my have a flashable BIOS.

    3.66 driver here

So simple yet it hurts. FOR RC3 and above only as stated above. To have perfect Q3 action. You can use 3dicons with this formula. Get the newest drivers 3.6x for win2k Get the NT4.0 drivers from www.nvidia.com Extract both to diff folders. Take the NT4 nvoglnt.dll and put it in the win2k drivers folder overwriting the 3.6x dll. Now to fix the refresh rate. open the win2k nv_4disp.inf with notepad. find your card mines a TNT2U so its the NV5ULTRA. you will see in rows on the left the color depth the resolution and the refresh rates. Now remove the refresh rates you dont want to use for that resoultion. Making sure the 0" lines up on the right margin. Then install. any more questions ICQ me

    Supreme Snowboarding

some DX games wont run in win2k cause it thinks its NT4 and since NT4 dosent have DX7 it says it wont run. I wish M$ would release a patch for that ****. assholes
  6. goto http://www.betaos.com/drivers/Tempvid.zip they have the working OpenGL 3.56 and working D3D 3.65 win2k drivers I have a xentor 32 ultra and those are the drivers i use. [This message has been edited by r0ck0i (edited 31 December 1999).]
  7. It might not be faster but the game either runs or dosent none of that crashing the whole OS and having to reboot. just kill it and get on with it. The only games that dont work are thinking its NT 4.0 with no DX5,6 or 7 which there is. Only some DX games work. Most opengl games work like Quake.

    Q3 for Win2k Guide

you got it all wrong. You need to edit your inf display driver to get the right refresh rate in win2k then you dont have to use a q3 command. As for it being dark, you want to use hardware gamma so leave that at defualt and change r_overbrightbits to 0. then change r_intensity to 1.2 or 1.1 or 1.4 whatever looks good. Then use r_gamma to get it just right.

    changing from FAT32 to NTFS

i learned this in MCSE class F:\>convert /? Converts FAT volumes to NTFS. CONVERT volume /FS:NTFS [/V] volume Specifies the drive letter (followed by a colon), mount point, or volume name. /FS:NTFS Specifies that the volume to be converted to NTFS. /V Specifies that Convert should be run in verbose mode.
