Will Win2000 ever support TV Tuner hardware that uses the bt848 (not definite) driver? I recently received a free card from a friend and of course I can watch my cable tv on Win98 with it, but with Win2000, it doesn't support it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Mix ------------------ -Mix

I had been to their site not a month ago, my memory escapes me, but I do believe they are still around, at least I hope they are! ------------------ -Mix

I can't remember exactly, but I believe it was a Magic Xpress, or something like that.. I'll have to look it up again. This is the first time I've had any experience with tuner cards. ------------------ -Mix

I don't understand it, I have a p2 400 w/128 meg, v3 3000, and once I got the new 3dfx beta drivers installed, Q3A was twice as stable as then it was with Win98, not as jittery and my fps seemed to be the same as when I was using the Wicked3d drivers. Weird Issue.... I have no complaints on this issue any longer . ------------------ -Mix

Just in case people aren't being specific, I thought I'd post this little diddy I found on the board. You can get the 3dfx beta drivers that fix your opengl issue at: http://superhighspeed.dhs.org/ I'm grabbing them as we speak, and if they don't work, I'll let you know via the board. ------------------ -Mix

I was grabbin the 3dfx Beta drivers for Win2k . They work like a dream, just as good as my wickedgl drivers, the only thing I see different is the gamma, a lot darker than the wickedgl mini drivers. Anyone with a 3dfx board having issues with Q3A, needs to get these . ------------------ -Mix

Seld, it just plain doesn't work. If it did, you and I wouldn't be responding here about it. Trust the fact that I would like for it to work, but that's not the case for me at the moment. I downloaded the drivers, followed instructions, and I got a yellow and grey haze when I started up Q3A after following the instructions. I've told you directly what the issue is, so how is it that I am possibly wrong? Especially after I did exactly what the text says, and then my end results were terrible. It didn't work for me, that's as simple as it gets. I've been a practicing tech for 3 years and have experience with all Windows Platforms. I'm pretty sure when I follow set directions for something and then it doesn't work, that it didn't work for me! Geesh ------------------ -Mix

You gotta be on crack Seld, seriously, I tried using the fix that was posted, and all I got was some nasty ass yellow and grey graphics.... so that fix doesn't apply to all of us... someone must get into the 3dfx site so we can get the new drivers . ------------------ -Mix

Anyone have any idea when 3dfx or Wicked are going to issue working drivers for Win2k? The gl is so un-usable it's not remotely funny. ------------------ -Mix

Unreal Tournament runs like a dream, Q3A keeps telling me that I can't load my gl subsystem, heh, so I have no idea how that runs. ------------------ -Mix

I get the same problem whenever I go to load Q3A, it says it can't load the gl subsystem. UT, runs great, but Q3A has yet to show me it's stuff on Win2k, if you can help, I'd be greatful. On a footnote, I did get your files on the last version of Win2k, but I still couldn't get Q3A to work. ------------------ -Mix

Thank You, you are a scholar and a gentleman . My buddy Mike is rubbing off on me . ------------------ -Mix

I haven't been able to install the driver for the MagicXpress TV Tuner Card. Has anyone gotten theirs to work? The driver it goes after is the bt848 driver I believe. Windows 2000 doesn't enjoy it very much . If you can help please respond! ------------------ -Mix

I'm having this exact same problem, with my Monster Sound software. Also, I tried the trick listed on the page for my Monster Sound drivers and it didn't work I have to use the Vortex drivers, and they have been less than cooperative on every occasion possible, I get alot of choppy sound. ------------------ -Mix
