It says it doesn't support TV wonder pci... that sucks... but I never used ATi's tv software anyway... I just loaded the drivers and used powervcr.... it's a ton better...

I had windows Xp long before it was offically out.. and most all my stuff worked... if you had winME you should have made sure all your Important stuff had xp drivers or it was in the compatability list. Would I go back to win ME? Never... i have always like windows 2k but it never had the game support for it.... so I never used it on my gaming machine... now that xp is out... i am not saying its 100% compatable.. but it's a hell of alot better than win2k was for games. I also do a lot of other stuff where I need or just WANT a stable computer. If your problems are with things you can't live without.. and your a gamer... I would go back to WinME.. But if you can get buy and wait it out... i would stick with XP... I still have a couple programs and hardware... That don;t totally work how they should.. but drivers are comming out soon... Xp is not even a month old... so you got to think about that. Damn it took creative like 3 to 4 months after the release of win2k just to get their live ware out.... damn did that suck!! ASiDiE

I also have a boomslang 2000... and did notice that.. I wrote to them and this is what i got back.. this was before win xp was even out. "We have done nothing with XP as yet, but our contacts at Microsoft who do the QA all use Boomslangs (they tell me that they prefer them over anything that Microsoft makes, lol), and told me that they built in acceptance to our drivers. So, hopefully you can run XP with your current Razer drivers." I know there are some problems but they are working on it... I love this mouse and would never give it up! I have version 2.1.00 by the way... ASiDiE

I am using the offical drivers.... 22.83's and have had no problems with them... as for the guy using the 23.85's.... they are not offical... who knows what they are... so if you *****ing because your getting blue screens... who's fault is that? For the last guy... saying that nvidia needs to get good XP drivers... why don't you try out 3dfx.. or ATi.... ATi has got have some of the lamest drivers I have seen anywhere! just my 2 cents worth ASiDiE

I just upgraded to a audigy card from a SB live card. I have xp and loaded the drivers off the cd and then installed the XP update... Everything seems to work fine... BUT. With my old SB live drivers... I used to have EVERY Option in the record settings. AS in... midi synth, line in, cd, Aux, TAD, PC, CD Digital, What you hear, Mic, wave/mp3. I used to have each on of those separate so I could mute just AUX.. and still have LINE in. NOW... With these new drivers I have "ANALOG MIX... that includes Line/cd/aux/tad/pc All together. WHY? Creative or anyone else... I need to be able to split this up... and have a option to MUTE and UNMUTE each one... is there a registry setting or something? Right now... the program I am using is PowerVCR and when I try to record it mutes the sound... because I think its having problems with this analog mix. IF anyone has any info on this.. please let me know. Justin

I am having a major problem with this program and the audio. I am hoping one of you guys will have this program and XP and maybe can help me out. First off here is my system: Athlon 1.4 @ 1533 Abit KG7-Lite Gainward Geforce 3 card with 21.83 SB live with the latest drivers. First off I have both the in line audio cables and the AUX cables hooked up inside. I get sound when I turn it on and there is no problem there. I have never lost the sound when I am just watching TV. But when I use the instant replay feature. I can be recording for 10 min to 1 hour and then all the sudden... for no reason the I just lose the sound. Also when i am recording a video... the program likes to split the large files into 600 meg blocks.. which is fine.. well... I get the first 600 meg and the sound is just fine... yet all the others I LOSE the sound. This is really starting to get on my nerves. If anyone knows anything about this problem or knows where there is a good message board for this type of problem please let me KNOW! ASiDiE

I am looking for a tivo like program for my ATi card. I know where is winvcr but that doesn't even work with win2k. I am wondering if any of you guys are using anything else with your TV cards besides the drivers that come with your card. I am using the ATi software right now and it's ok for just watching but what's a good program to record stuff? ASiDiE

I loaded worms.. and it seems to work fine... I really haven't played it but I went into a game and everything seemed to work... i dind't get the black screen that I did with win2k... Give me more details and maybe I can help more.. I will test it out more myself. ASiDiE

Well I have downloaded the patches for the new half life and counter strike. I have a good mic and when I get on.. people were always *****ing.. Well I got my brothers KEY and logged into the same server with both comptuers. My win2k machine sound great! But on my XP machine... my voice is all choppy.. and laggy. I am wondering if anyone else has come across this? I have gotten the small update from microsoft's update page. I have a sound blaster live card. I have the livewire loaded on my win2k machine but not this one. Has anyone loaded the win2k verson of the livewire on xp? I just looked at their page and they say they have drivers comming out in mid october. Which is when XP is offically released.... a HELL of a lot better than they did with win2k.. it took them months to get drivers out for that! Well if anyone has seen this problem and have solved it... please let me know!!! Thanks ASiDiE

I load into CS and play for about 10 min or so.. then I get a blue screen saying something about nv4_mini.sys and nbf.sys. I was using 12.40 nvidia drivers and then moved to 10.80 but still the same thing. What seems to be the best drivers for win2k and nvidia cards? I got a geforce 1 ddr btw. Any help would be great. Here is the problem I am having. I run a FTP with like 7 Cd-roms one it... Every once in awile one of the cd roms can't be accesed. I mean I put the cd in and finds it and days later someone trys to use it and I get this error. Drive not ready The drive is not ready for use; it's door may be open. Please check drive E: and make sure that a disk in inserted and that the drive door is closed. Cancel Try again Continue The error is no big deal... so someone can't access the drive. But the MAJOR problem is when that error is on the screen. WINDOWS 2000 thinks it needs to SHUT DOWN ALL INTERNET ACTIVITY! I even looked in the error log and it told me that my 3com card has GONE off line and that it need to be checked for a malfunction! AS soon as you click on of the options all activity returns to normal... Does anyone know of a way to maybe remove this error.. and put a timer on it or something... becuase when you are hosting web sites and things like that for other people.. you can't have stuff go down like this! Over a STUPID error! ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!!!!

I have the exact same set up. I got win2k on one computer and win98se on another one. I have the same card you have in both of them. I have noticed when accessing the win98 computer it does take a little longer than usual. But it does work. I can also access my win2k computer with the win98 computer with no slow down. Check your access to the win2k computer and make yourself an account. It still might have something to do with netgears drivers or something. I know win2k has drivers for it but how current are they? I would be checking netgear's homepage for a message board or e-mail them. Who knows they might be coming out with an updated driver. ASiDiE

Because of win2k I know many of you are running bp6 boards and probably have peltiers on them. I am wonder what some of you have done to stop condensation? I have heard putting Vaseline to fill the gaps is one option. I will be looking around the overclocking sites to see what I can come up with... any feed back would be great! ASiDiE

Here is the deal... I have peltiers already and have been running dual 400's at 600 for the last 3 to 4 months.... like a dumb ass I didn't check to see if there was any build up of water and when i got home one night.. NOTHING. When I took the chips off they were just drippign with water... NOT GOOD. Anyway the board is being sent in to be replaced and I want to run the same set up with my new board. I also got a bx6 2.0 running a 400 at 600 also. Becuase this one is using a slot 1 to 370 converter I had no problems lubing it up with vaseline. I don't know what the long term effects are but it's just an adapter card. I put lube on the back of the card... i filled that gap under the cpu with some thin foam and then covered it over with lube. I then filled in all the cpu pin holes with a light coating. Put the chip on and sealed the peltiers with it's foam seal it came with... I got the tom peltiers from 3dfxcool.com. So that is my set up now and hope it works... becuase I don't want that board going out either. I will keep looking to see what I can come up with... Thanks for any input ASiDiE

Anyone know if there is a limit on the HPT366 controler? I just got a 40 gig drive and loaded win2k on it.. when i get all done and am rebooting... it just locks up. If I move it to the ata 33 controler it works.. Also I decited to partition the drive into 2 parts... 30 gig and 10 gig.. When I did that.. it works... Strange. I e-mailed HPT to see what they have to say. But who knows when i will get that back.. If you have any info on this... let me know. ASiDiE

I was wondering if anyone has gotten this combo to work? I just got my maxtor 40 gig the other day and put it in... and installed win2k final. I load it on the ata 66 controler and everything seems to work fine. Until I get to the point where your background color screen is just about to appear and it locks up. I can go into safe mode on the ata 66 controler but not normal mode. If I move the drive to the ata 33 controler it boots up fine. Also that is using all 40 gig as 1 partition. On one of the loads I put it at 30 gig as the main partition. Am I running into some sort of limitation? The Bios says it can handle 40 gig drives so that is good. If anyone has had any luck with this... please let me know. I guess I will just run ata33 until I figure it out. ASiDiE

I just loaded the new drivers.... As of right now when I click on the SOF it takes about 5 sec.. and LOCKS up. I haven't done any othere tests yet... but what I am wanting to know is the CORRECT way to install new drivers. SOMEONE needs to come out with a good clear way of doing this! My system Abit bp6 400 @ 600 both with peltiers 128 mb TnT 2 Ultra At 600 they run about 30C or so. When I turn cpu idle on it goes down to around 11C! and sometimes even lower! Thoes peltiers really KICK IN! Sometimes only 1 cpu goes down.. and the other ones stays the same... don't know why.. but if you boot up with it on... it seems to work. I love the program but am afraid that the chips are getting to cool. It is taking the temp UNDER the cpu... so the TOP of the cpu has to be damn cold. But anyway... that's my story.. hehe Sometimes I turn on cpuidle and then turn on motherboard monitor HEAT up program! and see who wins ASiDiE

I know there is a post on this already but maybe this one with get some inteligent posts. IF win2000 is going to be the next gaming OS which tons of people are saying don't you think this might be a problem? And why does it only happen in games? Someone said turing down the speed of the mouse might fix it.. but when you are used to playing very fast you just can't do that. I am also wondering if Build 2194 or even the final build of 2195 fix this problem... Please let me know! Thanks ASiDiE
