Ive got a MS Force Feedback Pro stick, this works with sidewinder auto detect driver just fine. I cant however get the profile software to install off the CD. This is annoying as all the buttons on the stick cant be configured. Anyone know if/how i can get the profile software to install ?

Does win2k server have native support for remote admin and configuration ? My server (currently linux) has no monitor so if i put win2k on it, i will need to be able to do everything remotely. Suppose its too much to hope it exports a desktop session or full command line config a'la linux. I thought of VNC but it tends to be a little slow over my 10mbit network

Theres a "Taskman.exe" in /WINNT /WINNT/SYSTEM32 and in the dll cache dir Just loading them from command line doesnt seem to do anything

Is there a way to start the take manager/performance monitor in the system tray minimised on windows start. CTRL CLT DELTE > Task Managed then minimising isnt a great way to do this.

Not entirely topical i dont think but here goes anyway. Currently my LAN has a linux server providing the usual network services and NAT translation/ IP Masquerading to the internet for the LAN. W2K server can do all this but a few things im not clear about. Linux PC has no monitor but its possible to control everything remotely via telnet or an X-Session. Is this possible in W2K ? Also i dont want to use Dial on demand to do problems with accidental dial - but i do want users to be able to start a connection from their own desktop PCs if they need it. With linux this is easy but can W2K do it ? Sorry for the questions that may be slightly off topic.

This is a known issue with Direct3D mode Only solution currently is to use GLide or software or any other rendering mode except D3D

That isnt really the trouble, the problem is when installing stuff it puts registry entries in one place which then arent there when you change users so the game doesnt work. IE install a game with "Run As Administrator" wont work with any other user due to reg entries. Some games install as power user but others still require admin to install

2195 build. Win2k PRO is announcing itself to my LAN as a master browser causing havoc with my other LAN server. How can i stop it doing this - i cant find anywhere obvious in network control panel.

Ive gotten most of my games to work in win2k Pro (2195) but only as administrator. I assume the problem is with registry keys, i installed (eg Falcon4 and Theme park world) and they work fine in administrator but on booting to a normal user, no such luck as they complain about no registry variables and request CD for reinstallation etc. Anyone offer any tips on getting round this or how to manually port reg settings ?

Win2k 2195 professional... I install my joystick under Administrator (M$ sidewinder auto detect) but when u log is as my normal non-admin user it doesnt appear in game controller setup. Any idea how to get round this?
