check to see if a program is taking control of the sound resources instead of letting device manager do it. Run a DXdiag too and see if that gives you any hints on the prob.

Turtle beach just posted WDM drivers for windows XP, and Windows 2000 on their website. ftp://ftp.voyetra.com/pub/tbs/santacru/sc_4112.zip
-
Has anyone who installed these drivers tell me if EAX is working for them?? [edit] got it working [/edit]
-
THATS BECAUSE THE 4.05c AGP DRIVER IS NOT DESIGNED FOR XP!!!!! It is designed for 2000, so you have ot use the 2k compatability mode. Also don't contratict me when i know something works.
-
this has been said a long time ago from nivdia. THEY DIDNT BUY 3dFX. SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO SUPPORT USERS. They bought the propriatary technology that 3dFX used, not the cards, not the company. Just the technology. Why did they do this??? So they don't have to put up with whiney 3dFX users wanting drivers for outdated video products.
-
if you want the AGP driver to install the installer has to be run in 2k compatability mode.
-
if it doesnt show up like that then you will have to kill it manually by booting into safe mode and deleting the Outlook Express directory. We all know how MS is very competative and lets people install the browser of their choice on MS systems.
-
uhh you do it the same way
-
they work great for me. 100% effective. It is also said if you have one of the cards based on the same chipset you can use the SC drivers for those cards.
-
Im looking for a genuine help file or some kind of doc that will explain to me how to use all these tools and what they do.
-
7 isnt out, well according to Executive Softwares page it isnt. 6 SE works fine with XP.
-
no problems here.
-
get the new version of tweakUI for windows XP, that will allow you to save your password and have it logon automatically.
-
yes and no. Nero is retarded, i have found better performance using it when using an installed ASPI layer and have found worse performance when not using one. It is supposed to use internal ASPI but having an external one installed causes me less problems so i just use 4.16.1021 of adaptec's ASPI layer.

anything less than an 700mHZ maybe even higher shouldnt be running XP. I tried running it on a 500 with a little over 300 megs of ram (96+256= whatever) and it runs OK, it doesnt run half as good as it does on my system. So most 9x users unless they have new boxes and can't get a copy of 2k don't have the horsepower to run XP. So they are better off getting a new box.
-
the final eval copies released to beta testers have them i believe. If you are paranoid about it just copy the files to your HD and remake the CD. That way there is no UUID on the CD.
-
they put the UUID into the ISOs the beta testers get so that they can track where the leaked builds come from.

I was wondering how you save the group policy settings you set in the group policy editor. I have the policies set all i need now is just to save them so i don't have to go and redo them when i format or something.

ive never had a problem using a cross over cable in any of the setup's ive used. Cracks have been known to break file sharing too.
-
truthfully, besides a few bells and whistles and a more out of the box refined version of 2k, not much. Is it worth it to upgrade over 2k?? If you have the means to then i would say to, otherwise 2k is fine.

Remote Desktop Access (Pc Anywhere) Alternatives for WinXP
ThC 129 replied to Netslayer2k1's topic in Software
A good program though its not freeware but im sure you can find ways around that, is remotely anywhere www.remotelyanywhere.com is the website. Check it out, i used to use it on 2k before i got XP. Its a very good program puts PC Anywhere to shame in my opinion. -
XP will not be implemented right away, but with the recent delay of blackcomb, maybe MS sees that people aren't going to buy into the whole OS of the year thing with computers. Over the next 2-3 years the majority (75-80%) of Windows based computers will be running a version of Windows 2000 be it 2k, or XP. All new computers will be running XP so it will be delpoyed there also. But when you get down to it the question is that do people think that this is going to be the MS cash cow win98 was??? No. It will take time to see delpoyment of it, and MS would be smart to delay BlackComb until 2004.
