do this it should get rid of the crackling probs: In the Mixer change the Routing Volumes to the following: Original Sound: 50-60% Reverb: 15% Chorus: 55% This will get rid of the crackling, Ive had the board since late march early april and have not had a crackling problem since I started using these vaules. I made a picture too if you want to get a better look at what Im talking about http://home.midsouth.rr.com/thc129/changes.JPG

you forgot mouse gestures too!! I use tabbrowser extensions, themer, PrefBar, and MouseGestures.

I had a similar problem with some of my Mp3 CDs, I used a CD scratch remover and buffed the disk and it copied fine after that. I think that diskwriter or some of the other methods mentioned above will work also.

Windows keeps reverting to a different page file size??!!
ThC 129 replied to ofelas's topic in Software
try to disable the pagefile on that drive, put it on another if you have one, then delete the pagefile and put it back on the other drive. This should make a new pagefile.sys on the drive that it wont change on. -
Those needing a new HD should check out this deal:

Anyone here tried the Diskeeper 8.0 Pro Preview? I downloaded it today and it is much cooler looking than 7.0 and the previous versions, plus it has a lot more options to it aswell. All in all looks like its going to be the best DK yet.

finding out what DLLs are required by a file
ThC 129 replied to ThC 129's topic in Everything New Technology
hmm yeah but you have to pay for that, i mean im just looking for something free to use to be able to tell me what i need. Thx for the reply though, but i don't want to spend money to get 1 dumb file working. There was link to the DLLs i needed but its dead now, and not even knowing what i need is a PITA to get it to run. -
i will try avast i have not used it before, so i will see how that works. Thx for the tip. Yeah Symantec has given me too many headaches to run another one of their programs.

yeah i use firebird and it blocks most pop-ups and ads, great browser. Mouse gestures and tabbed browsing too!!

there are plenty of softmods to do a 9500 to 9700 conversion. As for that tom's hardware review hrmm he tested like 7 or 8 nVidia cards and only 3 ATi cards. TH is always biased toward nVidia products. ATi is a better card handsdown. Their drivers are better, their cards are faster, and cheaper. The 9700 pro is a great card especially now that you can get it for less than $300. I paid $200 for my 9500 pro and im satisfied with that. Im never going to buy another nVidia card again, especially after the omega drive fiasco. Their chipsets though is a different story...

Ok, let me try and explain this. I have my favorites icon showing up on my start menu, but instead of showing as a Star it just shows up as a folder. It doesnt hinder anything, i just want it to show as a star for asthetics purposes. Anyone know why it would do this and how to fix this problem?
-
no dice the icon isnt listed in there. But the admin account seems to not have a problem with the icon showing up. Im thinking its a problem with the folder itself. Not a big deal since i dont use IE anyway. I fixed it, you just need to recustomize the icon, using the choose icon. Then it recreates the desktop.ini file which was f-ed up to begin with. Im just obssesive compulsive about things looking right even if i do not use them

Here is the deal I have 2 harddrives, and I formatted my main partition on my main drive a while back. Now on one of the secondary partitions on my other drive I have ghosted security settings for some of the folders. I checked the root of the drive but the account is not listed in there, but the folders and files still have this "ghost account" listed under them. When I go to delete it Windows tells me that its inheriting permissions from the parent object in this case the G drive, though on the root of the G Drive the account is not listed. Do i have to format this drive to get rid of this ghost account or is there another way to clean up these defunct security settings.
-
yeah i just had to set the owner on the folder to the account and it worked fine.

I can see how piracy would force a company to implement activation, but then again look at programs like winzip... This program has been around for almost 10 years if not longer, and the reg keys are still the same as they were from day 1. Are people going to pirate software yes it is inevitable, but the more money you waste trying to stop it (activation, different registration calls, etc), the more you will lose customers and money you could be spending on other things like innovation. Then again any program that makes you buy a new one each year isnt exactly the best thing since sliced bread. -

yeah i have the beta running now, it seems to be pretty good, though activation is not going to go over well. -
i think he meant Purchased: Take it back for a different game before you realized that you have been snuckered into spending $50 for a very poor game. Yeah duhmez sounds right on the money there... sounds like an autoplay problem.
