when a CD-RW is quickly erased the Table of Contents (TOC) is Erased NOT the data. By erasing just the TOC it will erase the CD faster but may cause problems if you write and re-write data onto the CD-RW. I would say for every 3 burns on an RW do a full erase. As for getting the contents of a CD after it has been erased i don't think there is a way to do it but i could be wrong.

I just got a Abit KT7a and was wondering what people thought about using the VIA 4in1 drivers are they good? Bad? what? I will be using them on WinXP so keep that in mind too plz. Thanks

I do not know if it is audiogalaxy or if it is webhancer that comes with it but i have found that these programs sucessfully BREAK YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION. I will do some more digging and see if i can't figure out which specific program it is. In the meantime i do not recommend using these programs with WinXP 2465.

yeah after playing totally UNREALISTIC action games im gonna go shoot someone WTF?!!!!?!?!? I mean look at the weapons in video games, none of them are even close to real accept in CS and RogueSpear which have weapons based upon real guns. I mean i get done playing Quake 3 or UT and im gonna go out and get my BFG and shoot someone. Sheesh give me a break.

do you have another video card you can try? -
so do I but this isnt the place for it that is why it is not allowed on here. This is a place for tech support, and if people are too much of a newbie to know where to get it that isnt our problem it is their problem for not taking the time to look around and get familair with the scene.

i occasionally get the problem with my SantaCruz when it happens i just shutdown whatever soundapp im using and load up another one. I usually get the problem with Winamp so i shut it down and load up Tribes 2 or something. Come back load winamp its fine again. The problem seems to be the way that they modified the sound properties and the way drivers interact with XP.

well you can get a new PSU or if you have an older mobo/processor try it on those and see if it still does it. Other than that i would have to blame either mobo or chip. -
AHAHA lawsuit what a bunch of crap. People blame video games and TV on their lack of parenting. My brother and I used to fight all the time and wrestle and do DDTs and Piledrivers, and we both came out fine. Sheesh people need to grow up and stop trying to read books on parenting and listening to what Dr. So and So says and grow up and realise that if they maybe paid attention to their children and recalled what they did when they were kids they wouldnt be so damn uptight and stop worrying about how everyone thinks they are bad parents and they must do everything according to the book or something. God its just sickening how bad people are at parenting now-a-days. Hell im 21 and Im a better parent to my friends 2 year old than most people are with their kids. Sorry about the rant this is just a touchy subject for me because im sick of everyone blaming everything but themselves for their lack of parenting. How i wouldnt just like to go up to them and slap them in the head and tell them to grow up and follow their instincts instead of questioning every move they make.

umm only 1050 for a 1gHZ t-bird umm you must be doing something wrong because ive seen 1g t-brids top out around 1.5. Are your l1 bridges covered?? According to the overclockers.com database the average overclocked speed for a K7 1gHZ is 1.22 try upping the voltage to 1.85 or something because T-birds and Durons are known for the ability to be overclocked higher too. I don't like intel CPUs because they lock the mulitpliers on them my T-bird 1.33 is already unclocked and ready for overclocking. AMD is much more friendly to overclockers than intel is.

I use nero, cdrwin and EZ cd creator sometimes. Im not a big fan of external USB cd-rws because the transfer rate on USB isnt really high enough to keep a constant stream going at high burn rates. If you have an internal IDE bay i would recommend taking the burner out of the case and putting it in your computer all the external drives ive seen are just internal IDE drives with a case on the outside to make them work as external.

yeah that is the problem with playing on any public server though people dont work as a team and don't want to work as one. As for CS yeah there isnt much teamwork involved in there except when you play with your friends or people you know and will work as a team. You are right about Rogue Spear though the AI is a hard as muck and i do like the co-op games because people work as a team instead of lone gunmen. They still don't seem like action games to me because they involve a thought process unlike most hardcore action games like UT, HL and Q3, with those games you just pick up a gun and shoot.

are the Rs and RWs buring at the same speed?? If the RWs are only burning at say 2x and the Rs are burning at 4x then try turning it down to 2x and see. I dont think it is software but try another program and see if it is that, also the latest version of EZ CD Creator is 4.03 so try upgrading to the latest version. Also resintall your ASPI layer. Other than those options i couldnt tell ya. **edit** After re-reading your post i would say that your software sounds like it is f-ed up. So try a reinstall of EZ CD Creator or try using something like cdrwin or nero.

Does anyone have build 2465 PLZ CONTACT ME !!!!
ThC 129 replied to dodgeviperrt10's topic in Hardware
yup I have 2465 and it is really nice though it doesnt seem to want to save my wallpaper. BAD WINDOWS!! I still wish it said whistler though. I like that name much more than XP. If you want 2465 get off you arse and look for it. It didnt take me too long to find it. So search the newsgroups or IRC it cant be that hard to find. -
i ended up killing it by going into safe mode and deleting that and the Movie Maker directory. Bye bye WMP8 HELLO WMP 6.4
-
CS and rogue spear arent action games they are Counter-Terrorist shooters. As for best online game Tribes 2 by far nothing like hopping on a 64 player server and dishing out those discs to people.

you can just install creative launcher to do this. The drawback is you have to go through the Poo!Ware setup and then reinstall the original drivers for you SB Live!. Other than that you can probably get a Wise Installer decompiler and then just take the launcher components out and install those. Other than using Creative Launcher i dont know of any other way.

anything past 7.17 has direct X 8 support in it. The 12's I know add support for the GF 3 and the 2 new GF 2 MX cards.
-
I dont know what you guys are doing but it has always worked fine for me on 2 different systems so i know its not a hardware problem. All i did was download the SC drivers from the website used the installer and everything went fine. Im able to use the Versajack as well as all the other ports in the card. I used it on a ASUS p2b with PIII450@504 and now on my T-bird 1.33 with Abit KT7a both installs were flawless and worked fine.

i tried the 4.30s and i got the notorious sound card issue with em. Im putting XP 2465 on now and i will see what i cant do.

i would have to say for pure fragging action it would be UT. Though ive heard from people on this board serious sam gives it a run for its money. I assume we are talking straight deathmatch games here?
