I was wondering if any of you that participate in the message board would know which port that Aol Instant Messenger uses for its Voice chat communication? I'm useing NAT for a firewall and it doesn't work transparently so i figure just map the port but i don't know which port it is! If you could help me out on this one i'd be eternaly grateful.

I have the 21.81 drivers installed. Simply becuse nvidia sais its the "best ones to use". So to prevent uneccesarry brain activity i just installed them. But they don't work! No d3d, games just close to the desktop 5 seconds after opening, DXDiag lets me do a d3d test once than after that it "Fails at step 8 CREATE_3d_DEVICE". I have an older system so. Amd k6/2 400mhz Soyo 5ema+ Motherboard 128mb Ram 2 20gig's Burner / CD-rom bla bla Ge-force2 MX/400 With the most recent video bios too. Anyone have a CLUE on this?

Is it possible to have USB Support in NT 4? I'm looking for an upgrade PCI card you put in PC's without usb. And it has to support nt 4 because well thast what i'm running. I'm getting 2-way sattelite internet and the Sat modem is external and USB only. And my server doesn't have usb so i have to put in an addin card. Does anyone know of any addin cards that support NT 4?

I love NT 4 though i can't really use win2k on this machine. Its kinda old. Thats why it doesn't have USB to begin with. Everytime i've tried win2k i've gotten some form of trouble. Whether it be STOP INACCESABLE BOOT DEVICE after i install sp1. Or something else to make it difficult. Plus i HATE active directory. but anyway... there is NO usb addin card that has specialized hal drivers for nt 4?

I have Version 6.18 Nvidia drivers for my Ge-force 256 32MB all the latest Win2k updates including SP1 and i am unable to play H&D. After the configure your soldiers / weapons screen it goes to the Mission briefing screen where it shows your Waypoints etc. Well after that is where ti is SUPPOSED to let you start playing i guess. Instead i get a black screen. I have the game patched to the latest (1.3) someone pleaes help i'd love to play this sometime soon.

I just recently bought a Ge-force256 based card and for my own reasons decided to give millenium a try. So formated to it and had been useing Winroute as my ICS software when i was running 2000 and it worked great. However I install winroute under WinME and go to Tools Interface table and there are none listed. Yes i am computer literate. And yes i have all my drivers installed. And yes again this is not a Windows 2000 related question however 99.9% of the people on this message board know winME win2k win9x and probably bill gates himself better than anyone else so i bring it to you in hopes of a solution. Thanks a BUNCH.

I noticed that on the Compatibility listing Rouge spear is listed to work after installing the patch. Well i installed the patch to no avail. My game gets to the "Initializing" screen and exits to the desktop. Useing a RivaTNT and AMD k6/2 450. Also useing the 3.81 drivers. Tried with the 5.13 and had same results. IF anyone can help i would really appreciate it. Thanks

DAMNIT! I have tried everything and every possible O/S - Driver combination to NO avail. THIS GAME WILL NOT WORK. I have formatted 800 times. Tried CD cracks. Tried win2k and win2k drivers, Tried 98 and EVERY 98 driver. NOTHING. Also tried every patch for this stupid game. Tried their tech support. Nothing, nothing, nothing. somebody PLEASE help me before i go abesolutely insane! I really want to play this!!!

I coudln't find a crack for it on megagames.com or gamecopyworld.com I reformatted to 98SE thinking it may help but no luck I really wanna play this game too

I installed the new version 5.13 or whatever detonater drivers from 3dchipset.com and everything was great. I went from the 3.78 to the new ones and i had d3d before on the 3.78 but i did'nt notice till a short while ago that i had no d3d with the new ones. So i went back to the 3.78 and still no d3d. So back to 5.13 and still no d3d and thats where i'm at now. What do i do ????

Ok how weird is that. Without even rebooting before i went to bed last night i ran dxdiag and had no D3D. Woke up this morning and ran it and had D3D. Ok now thats just freaky

If anyone knows what port Dialpad.com uses in its java applet to make calls i would appreciate it because when on a computer that is on the subnet i am unable to here or send audio. The call goes through but thats about it. If anyone can help thanks. Oh yeah URGENT !

what is TcpResponseList=51210 UdpResponseList=51200-51201 and how do i do that in Routing and REmote access ?

I just got the game and installed it after checking ALL Compatibility lists and when i double click the exe to start the game my computer goes to work for about 5 seconds than nothing happens as if i never clicked a thing. No screen activity or nothing. All other games i haev tried have worked GREAT (Q3 UT and many maany more) I don't understand the problem here. IF anyone has a solution or similar problem please let me know. Also i am X-86 on #ntcompatible on Undernet and X-86 on EFnet also. Thanks again

I recently posted a topic about Internet Connection shareing which i have since fixed and am no longer haveing problems with it. Thats not a problem anymore. What is a problem is that i am trying to make my Win2k RC3 Server a Primary Domain controller and i'm finding the process to be FAR different than NT4 and FAR less desireable. The reason being that you now have to have this active directory or whatever it is. I converted to NTFS just to use this and now it won't work. It supposedly REQUIRES a DNS server which i do not have/want. I am connected to the internet via a Dialup connect and do NOT have a registered domain name on the internet to use as a PDC Name. In NT4 you didn't even HAVE to have internet connectivity to be a PDC but yet now you do. What can i do?

Well i've been fooling with the Active directory wizard trying to get it to work properly. But almost everytime i run it and it gets to a certain part "Preparing the local server for active directory" It freezes my whole machine SOLID. What am i doing wrong?

I cannot get Win2k PRO To share my dialup internet connection with my lan for some reason. I tell it to share a dialup connect it makes the changes to my network connect, than on my client win98 PC i setup the NIC's TCP/IP Binding to use DHCP to obtain IP and thats all i specify the rest is defaults and i don't get any results. Am i missing something somewhere?

I found out something. Its not shareing after all. Its the networking itself. Look i get this in my event viewer EVERY BOOT. The DNS proxy agent was unable to bind to the IP address 192.168.0.1. This error may indicate a problem with TCP/IP networking. The data is the error code. i tryed setting it as 192.168.0.2 same error with the 2 instead and i know nothing about DHCP i'm now running server instead of PRO so change directions accordingly. If it can't assign that to the nic on the win2k machine than how is it supposed to assign ones to other machines. NOW i understand the problem but do not have a solution. Help! AHH!! I take this message back! I just discovered that if i DISABLE ICS it doesn't give me this error and it assigns 192.168.0.1 just fine to the NIC but yet it still won't let 192.168.0.2 go to a client win98 PC.... grrrr this is so confusing [This message has been edited by digitizedsoul (edited 09 December 1999).]

I really appreciate you guys time on this, and i also saw no problems in how he told me to set it up. Thats exactly how i set it up when i used linux and IP Masqurading as my gateway and it worked great. But for some reason now useing that EXACT setup when i'm on the win2k machine i can't ping 192.168.0.2 (Win98PC) and on the win98PC i can't ping 192.168.0.1 (Win2kBox) So if i can't even do that i am not going to worry about the DNS just yet beacuse i can't even ping an actuall address. I don't know what i'm doing wrong here.

Yes i know how to enable it. Just on a client PC i don't know what to setup in order to use it.
