    ut server?

i am running win2k (2128) with iis5.0, i have internet sharing running so my win98 machine can surf. i want to tun a dedicated game server (Unreal Tournament) and have other net users connect.(i have a cable modem) so: iis is up and running and i can connect from the web, i can surf. when i start the dedicated game server it starts normally and appears to be running BUT..i cant connect to it, if i use gamespy i can see it but the ping is not recognized (9999)..how do i set up the ports on the webshare settings to allow net users to connect? i see app & service settings but do not know what settings to port to where, i have tried some but to no avail..is there a gamer in the midst?? Suggestions would be appreciated.. ps Unreal Tourney use ports 7775/7776 for lan port 7777 for game play 7779 to talk to web servers like gamespy 7778 same as 7777 or 7778 29700 for udp game pinging if this helps

Internet Connection Shareing in RC3 PRO

i just (re)set this up again today but using a cable modem and win2k rc2 so here goes: set your nic at 192.168.0.10,sub255.255.255.0 no gateway, but add your isp's dns servers. on your dial up connect set it to whatever you want then (you'll see why in a sec) turn on sharing, this will cause ICS to change your settings to 192.168.0.1, 255.255.255.0, then go back and change it to your real settings (that you got by running winipcfg earlier and wrote down somewhere ;-)..set ip,sub, gate and dns.(maybe need a domain suffix too depending on your isp), now go back and remove the last zero from your nic cards ip (192.168.0.1)..probably have to restart now too. On the second machine, change your nic config to obtain an address atuomagically and add the address 192.168.0.1 as your gateway..that should be it..(after the resart) good luck..i had to restart a few times cuz rc2 is still sorta buggy with network stuff
