no patching nothing just installed and works great. WinXP 2481

Okay NFS5 installs fine but then when i start the game the menu's are flashing and while i'm racing some of the 3d textures are missing i thought it was my gefore 2 card but nfs4 works flawless and so do a lot of other 3d games can some one offer nay input of what it might be.

Every build and beta i have got on WinXP has been bootable even beta 2, that i have has been bootable so i'm sure they will be for u. Even all of win2k's beta's have been bootable. ------------------ "In order to be free to learn" "We must be free to dream"

I usually do just burn the iso but some of the cracks out there have u edit some files before u install which i know isn't nessecary but just incase i had too i wanted to know how to make the cd bootable again Thx Eddie ------------------ "In order to be free to learn" "We must be free to dream"

Ya OS/2 Warp was another great OS. I would just like to throw in my 2 cents. I'm wondering what's going on here all i see is flaming wars. Now i came here to find some positive critisim and debates on win2k and/or winxp but all i find is "your a homo, lamer". "F**k you" and what not. Now can we get back to the real point of this site. I will admitt some of the wars do make me laugh but when there is like 5 pages full of crap then what does that tell ya. I don't want to start anymore wars but can we all get back to the real point here. it should but,if not don't be surprised. Your isa card might be a problem but who know's just load it up and see what happens but make sure u have the proper crack for your build. Okay i have installed winxp 2446 about a week ago or two and now all of a sudden today i get the warning saying i have 7 days to activate my MS product i tried doing the crack again from safe mode, rebooted same thing i have 7 days to activate should i be worried or what

Okay guys what is the point of all this, i just don't understand. Everyone has there own opinion on the Mac and PC. As for WinXP being a rip off of the new Mac OS who cares and again everyone has there own opinion on that as well basicly WinXP is just an enhanced version of Win2k whether MS did rip off the Mac or not who cares because it's just competion. I love WinXP just as much as i loved Win2k, MS has done a very good job on both compared to the BS of Win98 and WinME i could care less if it was a rip off of the Mac since i don't use the Mac. I just thought i would throw in my 2 cents and maybe stop all this Mac and MS bashing because it is pointless and it is going no where.

how do u get BID 2.5cg to work under WinXP build 2446 for some reason i can't and also how do u configure WinXP's firewall to work with G6 FTP server. Becuase when i try to set it up i can log in to my server from a remote computer but then when my server goes goes into passive mode it trys to use another port than what i setup in the firewall. so how do i set up WinXP's firewall to use any port instead of just one port. Please Help

i have the creative labs drx3 decoder card. the problem i'm getting is when i try to install the sigma beta drivers fro realmagic for win2k my computer crashes and restarts and then my acpi doesn't work after that. When i try to go into standby or hibernate it says my voodoo3 video device drivers are screwed up. I think it has to do with acpi and the irqs because the drx3 card wants to use irq 9 and win2k doesn't allow me to change resources. Please Help My system: asus p3b-f pIII 450@600 3dfx voodoo3 pci creative labs dr3 acer 10/100 mb fast ethernet diamond mx300 i ------------------

ACPI is Advanced Configuration and Power Interface which gives you the option of standby and/or hibernation both very good power saving options

I get the same problem it has nothing to do with your dvd drive it has to do with acpi and there's no way around it, to get the driver's installed you have to go into your bios turn off plug N play and and manually set your irq for that pci device in bios (which ever irq is free) then go back into windows and the install the beta driver and it should work but you'll loose acpi so it's your choice of acpi or the drx3 board. What i am doing is waiting till either real magic or creative releases a driver till then i just disabled the device in device manager and go back into my bios and turned back on plug in play and then i had to go back into windows and manually uninstall the drivers ( read the readme file supplied with the drivers for that) and acpi works now. ------------------
