Hello, trying to play MM7 on Wink 2k 2195, but while it is loading, it boots me back to my desktop. I'm using the Nividia 3.75 drivers for my Creative TNT2 Ultra and all DXDiag tests passed. Any ideas other than running the game in Software Rendered mode? Thx!!

I've tried installing build 2428 and I get stuck at the same spot too. I use a TNT2U card and it still halts. So I borrowd my brother's Voodoo4 and the same thing. Next I pulled out my old ATi All-in-Wonder, and it still hangs at that same spot. I don't think it's a vid card problem at all....although I have no clue as to what is causing the problem. Very frustrating....oh yea, I had the same prob with build 2416 & 2419.

Ok, I've just finished trying a bunch of combos to get 2428 to not hang during an install. I reset cmos, reflashed cmos, installed a fresh copy of Win2k then tried an upgrade, and it still hangs. Always at the part where it's going to start up the graphical part of the insall. I've checked other message boards and at least I know others are having the same problem. I even tried an install and upgrade on a Fat32 and NTFS partition. So here r my system specs: P3 866MHZ EB Supermicro PIIIDME Mthbrd. 1 GIG Ram (Don't Ask) TNT2U SBLive Adaptec 2940UW Scsi Controller 1 5Gig Scsi Drive (for my OS) 1 30Gig UDMA 66 Drive (for Apps) Hitachi 6x DVD Sony CDRW 100E Thankx.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention where I get stuck...it's at the same spot as some of the other people, 'Starting Windows Whistler.'

I was trying to install WinWhistle 2416 and ran into a problem. I managed to get setup to copy the temp files to my hard drive, but on the reboot, setup continued to load and then stalled. The message displayed when it stalled was 'Setup is Starting Windows Whistler.' I left it for 2 hrs and it was still was stalled. Tried setup several times and it stalled @ the same place. Any ideas would be great. This is a fresh install from DOS onto a SCSI drive. My system specs r: P3866 Supermicro P3DME MB 512 MB PC 100 Ram TNT2U SB Live Adaptec 2940UW Scsi Controller 4gig Scsi drive 30 gig ATA 60 drive Dual CDRs Thankx!!!

Yes sir, for this MB there is, I just double checked it in my User Manual.

Thankxs for the help, there is a jumper on my board that disables the NIC, but that made no difference either. Guess I'm SoL, I'll wait for the next build. Hopefully the rumour of it having a revamped interface is true, as long as it's not a pain in the a$$.

Oh yea, there is no option to disable my nic card in my bios, my mistake. I did try an install with my ethernet cable disconnected, but still no luck. Hope this helps.

Ok...no modem on my system, but my nic card is built on my MB. It is PCI, in my device manager it is listed as: 'intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter (10/100).' I could disable it in the bios and try an install. Hope this helps, Thankx.

Ok...I'm running NAV2K1, with Office2K and Project 2K. When ever I start Word, Excel, Project, it loads, then closes about 5 secs after the load. Tried reinstalling it but now luck. The problem does not happen when I just have Office2K installed and not Project2K. Yet Office and Project work fine on my friends system perfectly, and not on mine or my other firends. NE ideas would be great. Thankx!!! Oh yea, I tried the uninstalling NAV2K1 and still no luck.

No need to reinstall Win2k. Thankx Miku, all I did was uninstall the products and reinstall them with new 'cd-keys' and they work fine now. Thankx!!!

LOL...It just may come down to that.

All of a sudden all my icons use 256 colours in Win2K. The option for 'show icons using all possible colours is checked' and I even downloaded Icon Packager and tried using it to bump up the icon colours, still no luck. Oh yea, my apps that use 3D acceleration can't find my diplay driver (TNT2 Ultra). So I can't use any 3d acceleration. Tried new divers, even the Nvidia reference ones too, no luck. The funny thing is that DXInfo reports and passed my 3D tests. Very strange. And 3D screensavers work for me too. NE Ideas?

Ne1 got this game to work in Win2K. Everytime I try I get a 'kernel error'. Any hints would be great. I've tried appcompat & qfix app with no luck.

8) I'm running Win2K with SP1 & DX 8, and NHL 2001 runs great. I don't use appcompat or act. I don't get any 'VID' errors or 'hard disk full errors'. I must be lucky I guess, the game runs smooth.

I get a totaly different error when I play the game. As the game is loadong, I get an 'Please insert the NHL 2001 CDROM into vid and try again' Don't what this means, I have an orginal copy, and the install went smooth. Any ideas??? Thanks.

I have the same card, and my hiberbate support is still there. Although when I plug my USB webcam, my hiber disappears. Strange.....

I turned off 'Hiber' then rebooted to try and delete the hiberfil.sys file, but no luck. I tried in safe mode, still now luck. Finally I used ntfsdospro and deleted it with no probs in DOS.

Is the TV-Out available now???

I had the same problem, I noticed one thing, if you go into 'control panel' and then 'multi-media' properties, and turn down the hardware acceleration for your audio device, the game works fine. I just don't have environmental audio with the game now :<. Come on 3DO, Smarten up!!! This might help.

Hello, use to work for IBM here. I've only installed Win2K betas on some of the 770 series and it installed and ran great. Although some devices did not work (like sound), & IBM obviously did not have drivers out at the time so I lost out. Also there was no 'Thinkpad Features' software for Win2K at that time, it's prob released now though. I did have to do a bios upgrade. If you can, make an image of Win98 before you install Win2K just to be safe. I found Win2K was better suited than Win98 for laptops.

Any ideas on how to delete the 'hiberfil.sys' file in Win2k on an NTFS partition???

Excellent suggestion, tried it, but still now luck. Still got the same error message. So I managed to track down NTFSDOS Professional, booted my system using a boot disk, ran NTFSDOS Pro, and blew the hiberfil.sys file away!!! ...Finally!!! Thx 4 The Suggestions.

Ok let me elaborate, of course I could do that if my hibernation tab was available in the power options. But it has disappeard, I'm strongly guessing due to a driver, but I'd like to get rid of the hiberfil.sys file which is taking up about 600MBs. When I try to delete it, it says the file is in use. So I have no option to turn off hibernation cause the tab had disappeared so I'm SOL right now.
