Hey all, First of all, the special keyboard keys are the extra ones that're popping in all new keyboards to perform certain tasks like play a cd, launch IE,...etc. Ok here's the situation. I have a keyboard with a bunch of these keys and I never bothered to install the software for it when I was in win98. But I was surprised yesterday when I was under win2k and pushed the one marked 'WWW' and got a new IE window. The problem is that I never configured these keys and I see nothing in win2k that lets me change their function. At the moment only the WWW one works but I'd like to configure the others. Anyone has any idea? I already checked the accessibility control panel and the keyboard one and nothing was in them about this feature. Thanks in advance.

I just received my new system with the nec 7800a cdr and winxp. I'm trying to use fireburner and cdrwin to burn some .bin files but they both complain that they can't find the aspi manager. I couldn't find any info on that in neither nec's website nor mictosoft's. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks for the help, I will try it and see if it fixes my problem.

My 3DMark score jumped from 4755 (12.41) to 5981 (21.81). This is on an Athlon 1.4 with Visiontek GF3 under Win2k with the system having 512MB of ram.

On my Visiontek GF3 I can connect my TV to the S-Video output on the card and then press Advanced in the Settings page in the Display properties dialog. From there, select the Device Selection tab and you will have the option of switching your display to your tv or monitor. There're different formats available (ntsc, pal,..etc.). The annoying thing is that you can only have only one display on at one time. So it's either the TV or monitor. As for resolution, when I switch to the tv it becomes 800x600 and when I return to the monitor it returns to its previous setting. Hope this was helpful! Cryptonium

I'm trying to add another gateway (with its own DSL connection) to a network that already has one gateway connected to the internet using DSL using Win2k Pro. The problem is that win2k doesn't allow me to use any dummy IP other than 192.168.0.1 for the gateway and since the old gateway is already using that, I can't enable internet sharing for the new machine. I don't want to use both gateways at the same time, each of them will have its own set of PCs that use it. Any help will be most appreciated! Cryptonium

With liveware 3 installed I can't find the utility that loads soundfonts to the sblive. How can I do that under win2k? Thanks

configuring 'special' keyboard keys under win2000
Cryptonium replied to Cryptonium's topic in Hardware
If none of the keys worked in win2k I wouldn't be surprised a bit because I haven't installed a driver for this keyboard. But one of these keys actually works without any special driver installation. Which leads me to believe that win2k is aware of these keys. Now I just need some way to configure them. -
Hey guys, Ever since I got win2k I've been converting my partitions to fat32 and one of the few remaining ones is the one that win2k resides in. I've been hesitant to convert it (i'm using Partition Magic under 98). So has anyone tried it or has any idea if it's safe or not to convert that partition to fat32 in 98 while win2k is installed in it? Thanks for any input!

I had the exact same problem. As soon as you go up that tunnel from the swamp the game crashes back to the desktop. A friend of mine also has this problem and we have completely different setups. This problem was not there in the demo version, though.

I think I read in Voodoo Extreme a quote from one of the CL guys mentioning a mid June date for the next release of LW for 2000.

Anyone has any info on liveware 3 for win2k? The last promised release date I heard was mid May.

I use the Dazzle which hooks to the USB. It works very nicely with win2k.

I have both a Logitech mouse and a trackball next to me. I used to be able switch between them (unplug one and plug the other) as I needed. But after installing the Mouseware release from Logitech this is not working anymore. The pointer stops moving when I change and it moves again only if I return the device I booted with. Any pointers in this? Thanks.
