I was so happy when I saw that, finally, Live!ware for Win2K was there... I DLed them... installed them without troubles (which is great cause no Live!ware installed correctly for me before)... I reboot the PC and BANG!!! At the middle of Win2K starting (bit before the Logon window) it just reboot (?!). I went in safe mode, uninstalled Liveware and then rebooted... everything worked fine again. I installed only the drivers and not the whole Live!ware stuff... Again I couldn't login Win2k. (so it's drivers based I guess) Creative is really upsetting me... I never got one of their drivers working correctly!!! My config: Cel466, 128MB, Abit BE6, Pioneer DVD6X SCSI, CDrw Yamaha 4416i SCSI, SB Live Player, Maxtor 15GB HDD udm66, Guillemot Xentor 32 (using nVIDIA drivers 3.81),... using Win2K Final This sucks!

Live!Ware 1.0 for Win2K, or how to kill Win2k in a few click
GPSnoopy replied to GPSnoopy's topic in Hardware
Well... I followed Blazer2's advice... formatted the D: (okay that's maybe a bit excessive but nothing as good as a fresh fresh install), reinstalled Win2K on it and installed the LiveWare. Now it's working (I guess there were leaked drivers installed after all by me ) Thanks Blazer2 I'm a bit disappointed of it... compared to the Live!Ware 3.0 of Win9x it's a bit weak but it's sure good to have a real working SB live! now -
Live!Ware 1.0 for Win2K, or how to kill Win2k in a few click

Well, I never installed any non official drivers... I always kept the original one from the Win2K CD -
Use the Task Manager (tskmgr.exe or something), you can access it byt pressing CTRL+ALT+Del. It will show you the usage of both CPUs and you'll be able to manage the Dual Processing as you want. For example you can put one app. on one CPU and another on the other CPU so on...

Nah Nah Nah... Unreal Tournament takes his time to load.. some people says "5-10 seconds" like that but it's really longer than Quake3... Quake3 is *click* *load* finish... UT is *click* *Load* *BIG HDD noise* *load* *yawns* *still BIG HDD noise* -> MENU! "great" UT takes at least 15-20 seconds to start.. No it doesn't come from your config, I've seen UT running at least on 10 different config (P2, P3, Cel, 128MB, 64, 192, TNT2, Voodoo3, Savage4,...) and it was always taking so much time. btw, Quake 3 takes !two seconds! (clock in hand) to get into the menu if I skip the intro though it takes roughly the same time than UT to load a level.

It's an internal error in NT Kernel... all I can say. Sometimes it can be caused by a program running in background.

I got the same problem with my TNT2 Ultra, just after I installed the 3.69 divers You should know (or you already do know) that those are beta drivers... they're flawfull, I reinstalled back the 3.65 one which gives me less problem and normal performances. The only thing we can do is just wait for new drivers (working one)... Don't forget Win2000 Final isn't officially released... (btw, the 3.69 drivers were the first one to reconize my TNT2 Ultra has an AGP... keep going nVIDIA guys, you're on the good way )

GeForce 256 - RC3 Build 2183 - v3.64/v3.56 - Not working
GPSnoopy replied to elbereth's topic in Hardware
I solved the problem... you must set in the BIOS: Assign IRQ to VGA then all the problem will be solved ) Quake 3 has troubles, I guess because it's still beta drivers from nVIDIA (3.65) for Win2k.. however, Unreal Tournament and Homeworld work great -
