Suncom is the brand. We need the model name to help you.
-
Huh? Like he said, it won't install.

Generally, Jane's simulations is a no-go under win2k. Althhough, you can trick most of them by first installing the game under win98 and then run it under win2000. The only thing that apparently doesn't work with Jane's X under win2k is the setup program (smart?)

The big $20.000 question is: Does it fix the sticky keys problem?
-
Does this Side-banding give any significant performance improvements?
-
Which bus speed are you running? When i switches from 66Mhz -> 83Mhz I experienced the same slow bootup. After disabling dma on my harddisks the bootup times went back to normal again.

This is a wellknown and hated problem which occurs in tons of games under Win2000. No workaround exists.
-
I've just installed Nvidia's 5.13 drivers and there *is* a tv-out pane - but it's grayet out. Anybody experiencing the same?
-
DosFreak: that's the problem - Asus are so lazy I'll try Reidyn's suggestion anyway though. Sigh - I should just have bought a basic card since all these features never works anyway due to lack of drivers.
-
You can't downgrade? That's spooky!
-
Believe me, a mouse driver is just about the simplest driver you can write. I wrote one once and it didnt take many lines.
-
Yeah, this sucks hardball. Let's try to get the source for Win2000 and fix it ourselves It prolly just a couple of lines of code that needs to be fixed anyway (**** you Microsoft! - how hard can it be!?).
-
Yeah, this version number difference confuses me too..
-
Sorry if this have already been suggested, but I'm to lazy to read all the preceding posts 8) A swap file should be size 2x your RAM size. Got that tip from some NT expert - something about how Windows uses the swap file
-
No fix yet, sorry. And be glad that it only affects Shogo on your system. Many people have problems with lots of other games too.

New drivers out! Haven't tried them yet since all the links are dead. If anyone have tried it out before the link was removed, tell me if it supports tv-out on the Deluxe versions. And if the colors in Media Player still screws up while using Asus' drivers.

There are 2 companies who provide drivers for your card: NVidia & Asus. The reason to this is that your Asus card is build on NVidia technology (GeForce) and their drivers therefore should work with your card. However, having native drivers from your cards manufacturer (Asus) is better since it makes all the fancy features on your card work, like tv-out & glasses (if you had that) - NVidia's drivers won't enable fancy brand-specific features because they're generic drivers wich works with all brands of the GeForce. However again, the manufactors (like Asus) tends to be slower in their driver development, so it's always a tradeoff wether you want speed (Nvidia) or features (Asus). I use NVidia's driver untill Asus get their arses together and release a real stable working driver with all features enabled. Hope it helped out a bit.

What's the difference between these new drivers and the 3.x series?
-
What the hell are you talking about? The best sound you get is through headphones! Some super duper 3-d $700 sound system might be better than $100 headphones, but since the first doesnt work due to lack of drivers, I'll stick the the latter.

I have the same problem with the mx300 and win2k. The real problem (I think) is lack of drivers by Diamond. Those lazy bastards newest driver is from Feb 1999!! But it's annoying, yes. We were better of with our old Sound Blaster cards - at least they didnt scratch

How can I re-install Media Player? Or at least some of the codecses which are messed up.
-
I found an interesting link which solved my problem here: http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/win2k_removecomps.asp

All of the sudden, Windows Media Player shows colors completely screwed up while playing f.ex mpg-files. Sigh. This incident and _many_ other typical MS incidents is the reason I refuse to pay for Windows. The day their **** works, i'll pay.
-
Dunno about the soundcard thing, because I have a Diamond MX300. I've been told it's some flaw in "Direct X Media" (whatever that is).
