Hi man, Thanks for replying, I've done that already over and over.. But still, it wont help. Also if i manually configure my IP in net-settings, it works like it should, i get the correct subnet mask then. So what else could you perhapes do? The win2k is just newly installed with a clean install.

HI FOLKS!! I'm currently pretty darn pleased with the progress of win2k. I've gotten all my hardware working and i'm amazed, the system hasn't crashed even once!!!! NO explorer.exe has preformed... or nothing!! My system is the following: CPU: Celeron 300@450mhz RAM: 192MB (samsung) HDD-IDE: 2x6,4gb 13,5gb 8,4gb HDD-SCSI: 9,0gb SCSICARD: Adaptec 2940uw GFX: TNT 1 SND: SBLIVE 1024 NIC: 3C0M 3c905b-tx TV: Miromedia PCTV/PCTV PRO CDROM: Plextor 32x scsi CDR: Panasonic 7502 scsi ZIP: Iomega 100meg scsi PRINTER: okidata 4w Pointer: Logitec Mouseman (using standard drivers) You belive that? All this stuff workin.. I've though not a flawless system, i'm currently disapointed with the following (not win2k's fault): PRINTER drivers make the system take 100% cpu each 5sec if it's not activated. TNT drivers aint optimized and i'm missing the options in displayproperties that win9x offers. MIRO TV drivers aint giving radioFM support, slow channel changing and misc probs.. SBLIVE! doesn't have that great support from creative as of yet, but i guess it's just a matter of time! This is all, Way go Win2000 rox's! Let's just hope the software devolopers will support it like they do with win9x. what is your experience with this new exciting OS? Thanks all for reading this post Radx - radx@hotmail.com

Hi, If i had a problem such as this, i'd format and reinstall. I'm not sayin it's the best choice, but you can always be sure that there isn't anything lurking around if you do a clean install if you have what it seams like a driver issue here... By the way, i heard that PowerDVD didn't work in windows NT4 if you were doin Software mode, it requires a hardware card. So i heard anyways, not sure what it really means. Good luck, sorry i can't give you a better advice. /radx

Heh, yeah, i guess... It's a bummer though.. i wish i never bought this damn printer.. it's small and everything, but papers get stuck and the printers on the web isnt really what you'd wish.. i mean even the installation program it self seams a bit "BETA" like, don't use the reboot choose in the end of the installation, thats dumb.. I should have gotten that HP printer instead.. though LED is nice.. hmm.. what ever, i hope oki gets their stuff together and releases som descent drivers soon enough, like 17feb i'm gonna email every company i've got stuff from and ask em nicely enough to popup some for me cya dude!

Hi folks, and first off i'd like to say thank you the operators of this forums, you guys are great!! And onto my question, I've got a a system runin 2195 and i have a few harddrives and i'm like you guys, i like to use the best of the best that you currently have, so my question is just, which one of these drives should i use to boot my os on: IDE: IBM-DPTA-371360 (7200 rpm, gives about 21meg / sec, but high seek time, like 9ms) 13,6GB SCSI: IBMAS400 DCHS09W (7200rpm, gives about 16,2meg / sec, but low seek time, like 7-8ms) 9GB I'm not sure what could be best for win2k.. I know i may look stupied here, but i can't help it, i'm still not sure which drive to use. Thanks

Anyone got something to say about Live3 for Soundblaster Live? if you check www.sblive.com will you not get any brighter.. atleast i didnt.. Yes, the drivers that came with are "working" but they are not good enough, like they dont support 4speakers, 34wave-devices at simutaiusly etc... Thanks

All i can say is that i did this to get my working over the LAN. 1. Install the printer locally on the "server". (win2k pro runing here). 2. From my win9x puter click "network" - access win2k pro box (you need to add your current login info as a user to your win2k box for win2k to accept you as an user, just like you did in nt4). Anyways click the win2k computer, enter "printer"-folders 3. Right click on "Printer-name" (ex. OKI 4W) 4. Select install... 5. Now it should ask for drivers, and since it's a win9x box your with, you can't really install those drivers that win2k is using, so what you need is to download the latest win9x drivers from your hardware vendor. 6. After you have install your win9x drivers stuff should be up-and-runin!!! Try that.. If you have questions please post and i'll reply to it once i see it. radx

Here i am, goin off like that.. My bad folks, the drivers supplyed did infact work for the Oki 4W.. just that i was to big of an ass to not check and read the readme file first (i actually installed these drivers first and didnt get em to work and then i quit to fast). So sorry once again, i'll do better in the future al'

I've tried the ftp://ftp2.okidata.com/pub/drivers/led/oki4w3.exe Didn't work at all for me.. It just prints half the line of the page (first line that is) and then the rest is just blank. The weird part is that it works great under windows98..? I'm open for suggestions Thanks
