Hi. I have a bunch of files and stuff that I would like backed up on my harddrive from time to time. Files like FTP sites, EMAILS, and certain programs and other misc files. SOmeone suggested a sync program. Wondering if anyone out there could help me out. I am willing to back stuff up to one of my partitions, then burn the files/dirs to a cdrw (on a weekly basis). This is for win2k btw. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks

If I installed win98se, and I noticed that my ACPI is disabled in the bios. Can I enable it and will it work? I heard if you enable it, you have to format / reinstall.
-
Running 7.58 drivers in win98se. What do i need to overclock them? the option isnt available in the advanced options.
-
This ACPI is a headache. HOW DO I DISABLE it? Just go into the bios, disable, then reboot? That easy??

Nothing else it slaved to the cdrom cable. I also believe under resources for the SCSI card it is set to automatic. Should this be set to automatic? What baffels me is that if I refresh a couple of times, it shows up..... but only if I refresh in device manager. I can look to see if it is sharing any other IRQ's. I know when I use to have WINME on, that I had conflicts iwth it sharing IRQ's...and I moved the scsi card to this slot, and it worked, so I assume this is an optimal setup.

Seems like everytime I reboot win98se now, it never detects my SCSI cdrom drive. I have to manually go into device manager, refresh a coupleof times before it pops up. Any idea how to fix this annoying problem? Please.

Is changing the IRQ to be shared a good thing or a bad thing?

Got it fixed, just had to update my scsi card drivers for some reason. Its a scsi cdrom, shows how much junk I got in this system. How I i use ACPI now that i have it enabled? or is it working automatically? I know that when I used it in win2k, when I went into standby mode, it helped cool my overclocked processor..

I enabled ACPI, it installed all the hardware, now my IDE cdrom isnt detecting in win98se. Its a pioneer IDE cdrom, and I have an abit be6 mb. Any Ideas?

What is the proper procedure for enabling it? Just go into the system bios, and enable, and reboot?

If i installed office 2000 in winxp beta 2, and im running a dual boot, is it possible to run it in win98se? Or do i have to install it in win98se to, but to the same dir as I did in winxp? I want the emails to be visible / updated in both os's (for my palm pilot's sake)

I know this is a little off topic, but there are some smart guys in here, and I would like their advice. I recently put WINME on my computer. I have 3 hd's and 6 partitions. Last night I put Ghost 2001 on, and imaged it under high compression. I got an image file that was 1.1gigs. Do I have any options on how I can get this size down, or back it up to cdrw, without having to reinstall/format? I know I can only hold around 650 megs on a cd, and this image file is double that. I don't know what to do, or what the easiest solution is. Please help

When I go to shutdown winxp beta 2, it reboots the system. Didn't do that when I first installed it. Very odd, anyone know how to solve this problem?

my partitions are differnt in winxp than in my win98. Say drive e:\ is in win98 named Echo. Well, in winxp, what should be my e drive, is my d partition...... Any idea to fix this?

I have an abit be6 mb, which has highpoint 66 on the board. Trying to install xp beta 2, and i get blue screens pointing toward hpt366. Is there an incompatibility here? What do I need to do to get this fixed? I got the newest win2k drivers on floppy for the installation.

When I boot up my computer,I have windows xp, Microsoft Windows (winme) and XP setup options. How do I get rid of WINXP all together? I have ahd two bad/partial installs that still linger on my system. I installed it to my E:\ partition. Going to get rid of it, and winme, put win98se on , then try to put winxp on as a dual boot again. Any ideas? Someone told me to get rid of the /windows dir, that didnt get rid of the bootup menu.
