Has anyone got the MS Sidewinder FF wheel to work as it should in Windows 2000 ? ? All I get is a plain wheel in the game controllers panel. It shows as a FF Wheel but no "force".

Playing Dungeon Keeper2 in Win2K Pro, the sound gets screwy. It sounds like two sound files are playing at the same time. Any ideas? System specs: Athlon 700(with 800 core) 256megsPC133 Epox 7KXA mobo Voodoo5 5500 AGP SB Live X-gamers Realtek 8139 NIC Adaptec 2940AU SCSI PCI

I can map the 98SE drive to 2K but from 98SE it asks for a password that I have no idea about. Any suggestions ?

Hmmmmm. . . . Looks like "piracy" has really hurt MS. Sales of 2K are higher than expected. My copy didn't hurt MS.

Man , I need to kiss someone for this ! ! Works GREAT ! Thanks a Million ! !

The easiest way is with TweakUI.

I have tried all the "so called" fixes for Liveware. After several formats and reinstalls of Win2K , I have decided to wait for Creative to release something that will work.

1. I feel that the comment by ThC 129 was totally uncalled for. 2. I have an HP 8100i and it works great in Win2k. 3. Adaptec Easy CD 4, does not install the latest Win2K compatible aspi driver. For starters, install Adaptec Easy CD 4, do not install Direct CD from the install screen. After installing Easy CD Creator 4, do not restart. Just exit the install screen and then browse the CD for the Direct CD directory. open the Disk1 directory and click on setup.exe to install Direct CD. After installing , do not reboot. Install CDRWin(I use CDRWin 3.7f) then install aspi32.exe from Adaptec. Now you may reboot. All should work fine after rebooting. If you need aspi32.exe , just let me know. Good Luck !

I recently installed "Beetle Crazy Cup" in Win2K Pro 2195. I played the game four times with no problems. Now it won't play. I get an error that says I have -1725megs disk space(yes negative 1725megs) and the game needs 25megs of drive space to run. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and I still get the same error. The drive partition (C:\) has 2.6gigs free. P3 500, Asus P2B98-XV, 160meg ram,SBLive X-gamers, Voodoo3 2000, two 27gig WD Expert drives partitioned at 5gigs/22gigs each.

Oops , forgot to mention that. I am on Fat32. I tried NTFS one time and had nothing but trouble. All my drives are Fat32 now.

OK , I finally got NFSHS to install. Terrible graphics. No 3dfx found by the game, it only shows "software rendering". Any help for this ? I have a Voodoo3 2000 with the 3DFX Win2K drivers installed.

I followed the directions. When i click the exe , the ini file disappears and nothing happens.

Control panel > Sounds & Multimedia > check the box.

Well said ! ! If you don't like the way SBLive sounds, dual boot with 98.

Will 16 bit hardware work in Win2K 2195 ? ie: Texas Instrument 1211-PCI Card Bus Controller (16 bit hardware)

Did you check the all important "HCL" ? -
On my Compaq laptop , AMD-K6-2-433 , 64 meg ram with dual boot 98/2000. There are 5 items on IRQ 9 . Everything works except the Linskys 10/100 PC card. The card is 2000 compatible but Win2K 2195 will not pick it up on PnP. I can manually install it but it won't work. It is shown with a yellow exclamation on it. This card did work on an IBM Thinkpad with Win2K 2195 also it works in 98SE on the Compaq. Can the IRQs' be changed ? IRQs 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, and 11 are not even used.

OK , It's not the ethernet card that is having trouble. It is the Texas Instrument PCI-1211 Cardbus Controller that is not working. No conflicts showing on it. It shows the device is working properally. I can put a PCMCIA 33.6 modem card in and nothing happens , same with the ethernet card. Any ideas ?

P3 500 , Asus P2B98-XV motherboard , 160 meg ram , 2 - 27 gig HDs, SBLive X-gamers, VOODOO3 2000 PCI, DVD drive, CD-RW drive, Scanjet 5P scanner on an Adaptec 2940AU SCSI card. I run Quake 3 for an hour or two with no problems at all. If you don't have the right drivers it won't work right. 3DFX is a hell of alot better card than a TNT card. Try Nascar3 in Win98 with both cards.(Nascar3 will work in 2K also)I installed a TNT in my sons comp and a Voodoo3 2000 in mine. Two weeks later I pulled the TNT out, sold it cheap and installed a Voodoo3 2000. That is my opinion. thanks.

bigb, Stop by a calander somewhere and look at the date on it. Seems to me that M$ set Feb. 17th as the official release date for 2K. After that date you can bet that drivers will be coming out of the wood work. In my honest opinion , Win2K is a hell of an OS. I run Quake 3 for hours with no problems at all. I do think it is an OpenGL game. The best thing to do is , sit back and wait for drivers to be released.

I picked up a used Adaptec 2940AU for $100 on the AGN forum. Works better than the Symbios Logic . You can also go to hp.com and find the link to a site that has a card and cable for HP scanners for about $100. I would go with an Adaptec.

I have a Scanjet 5p and I installed the 2.8 version from HP and my scanner works great.

Wrong answer , right place. You have to click "enable" . I do not know why M$ did it that way. Enable will disable "Autorun". I hope that helps.

I have an Asus P2B98-XV board with an onboard ATI Rage Pro AGP, I have installed a Voodoo3 2000 PCI and disabled the ATI in the Device Manager. It works fine. I am asuming that you have an HP comp. If you have TV out, you can kiss it goodbye. It will only work with the ATI.

I have drivers that work. Email me if you want them. I run Q3 on a Voodoo3 2000 with no problem.
