Hey m8s! I have a huge problem with my modem in Win2k. It's a Jet medialabs V1456VQE-R. Acctually, the Jet Medialabs part ain't so important since several comanies sell the V1456VQE-R modem. I have flashed it to v90 (with utility from Aksey). I flashed it after the problems started so that aian't the problem. The thing is I can connect to my ISP but i recive hell of alot error packets. And can't view any sites. It does not hang up or so but it's useless. I have called the support on my ISP and they couldn't help me. Last thing he told me to do was to reinstall all network things in Win2k. Is that gona help me? I think I have tested everything there is to test. But plz, If you have any idea... HELP ME! =) Thanx in advance m8s!

Well... I wanted to close this topic now when i have the solution to the problem... WEll... not the solution but the source. I do now know that it's the com port in the Asus Laptop that ain't compatible with Win2k. Thats what cousing it. I will test and see if I can tweak it in some way =)

Time for trouble again. Tried two diffrent GeForce cards on my K7V mobo. Asus 6800 Dlx (this one was fried in an accident =() and Creative Annhilator Pro. But i get the same result with both. After installing drivers it goes black when i reboot and is about to enter Win2k. I look around and it seems like the ACPI thing (whatever the name is) is sharing IRQ with the GeForce. I bet this ain't good. Seems like the moemory adresses might collide or something. Any idea how to fix this!? I wont be able to try it since my 6800dlx will be on repair for some days but plz come with ideas. Thnx in advance m8s! =)

Weee! seems like that last post will solve my problem. Will look at it as soon as my 6800Dlx returns from repair... Hmm.. And yes, the monitor is runnin at 60hz. I thought that was the problem to first, but it aint... =/ Thnx folks!
-
Hmm... Could we be looking at an IRQ conflict here to..? I mean, since it wrkin in 98. Or maybe some driver is not 100% Win2k compatible.
-
Hmm... Maybe a stoopid question but since I'm a stoopid person i bet you'll forgive me. =) It I turn of AGP 2x. Will it then ONLY run in 4x or will it only run in 1x...? Wonder since I'm runnin dualboot with Win2k and 98 and I don't want to loose any speed on the Win98 side... =)
-
Hmm.. never heard that it's well documented. Where ya read it? Any URL for me so i miht find a solution...? Hmm... And i find it funny that Asus 6800 Dlx shouldn't wrk on an Asus mobo... =) Kinda absurd if that's the case. And it does wrk in Win98 but not Win2k so I thing it's the IRQ's fuqing.
-
Hmm... You remember what ya set em to? But the funny thing is that I have a dual boot. And Win98 ain't a problem. Runnin smooth. So i think I must redirect the IRQ or something... But how?
-
Hmm... Seems like you guys have the same problem with K7V as I do... Might it be your GFX card shares IRq with that acpi thing...? Hmm... Look at my post: http://www.ntcompatible.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/002572.html

Kinda funny thing is that i have in my v6800 Dlx a newer bios then available for download... =) I have 2.10.02.10.02 and the latest on their FTP/WWW is 2.10.02.10.01. Strange... Ehhh...? =) Just bought the card and i know the first deliverence on v6800Dlx had some HW trouble. But this is one of the "good" ones... Maybe has something to do with that? =)

I have now tested with THREE (!!!) diffrent ISP's with the same result. It recievs ALOT of errors. Still no solution. Have any1 of you guys any idea?

The thing is that the verry same computer has been runnin Win95 and WinNT 4 with the same telephoneline and same modem. And the verry same modem is atm being used at my Amiga 4000 without ANY problem. So it must be some sort of setting in Win2k i have missed... =/

Eeeek! have just orded a v6800Deluxe. I hope I get that to work as it should. You know what you should do? Write to ASUS and tell them about your problem. Tell them to fix 100% drivers for Win2k couse the demand is there! AMEN! =)

Morning ppl =) Have som major problem with my onboars AIC-7890 scsi thing on my ASUS p2b-s mobo. First of all. When I reboot and the "Win2k splash screen" appears it "talks" with the cd-rw (Yamaha CRW4416SX) for like 1 min or longer. The two lights on my external CD-RW (Yamaha CRW4416SX) goes nuts and blinks. Then when the computer is looking for the network the cd starts to blink again. if i didn't knew better i would think he is looking for the newtwork on the CD-rw... =/ One day I took a look in the event viewer and fell of my chair. There were ONLY errors in it... =/ And one or two warnings. ERROR! The device, \Device\Scsi\aic78u21, did not respond within the timeout period. Warning! An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 during a paging operation. And so it goes on... =/ And this is on a pretty fresh installation. I have upgraded the Bios on the MOBO. The 7890 is runnin at v2.11 (think it's the newest). I can't find any info about this at adaptec or ASUS so now i turn my face to you guys... =) HELP ME! =)

As an employee at a prepress company i am verry dependent on the OS to have support for PS printers. Good support that is. In NT4 and 95/98 we used AdobePS for that function. But AdobePS ain't working in Win2k (NT5). And the built in printer function in Win2k is REALLY lame! But what do you expect from a company like Microsoft? =) Would be kinda funny to know if any1 else there is in my situation and if so how they have solved it. Is there any workaround to get AdobePS to work or is there any other applications for the purpose...?

Having problems with extremly slow LAN connection on my 3com 3C905B-TX. I have heard other ppl have had the same problems. is there any1 with a solution. Is this a specific problem for this card or is there problems with other cards to? I am using the drivers that Win2k installs for my card since no other driver works (not 3coms NT drivers anywayz...). Help is VERRY wanted. Plz mail me with suggestions or solutions. Could I have missed to configure something...?
-
The problem is solved temporarly. I took a 3C595 NIC from one of our old servers and plugged it in. That card has WIN2K drivers on 3coms site. So i will use it until we get some real drivers for 3C905b.
-
You already know I tried it without any performance increasment. But I thought it could be idea to say it so other ppl also see that the problem is still here and waiting for a solution. =) Thnx for the tip though. =) So ppl... HELP ME OUT! =)

5.5'er is runnin smoooth here on build 2195. No problems at all acctually. So either it's your build version or a "bad crack". Have youtested this version you have on NT 4 or 95/98...?

Well.. I can tell that Panda ain't working. None of the versions (NT/95/98). Hope those fellas get out with an update soon. Couse Panda simply roxx! =)
