Whats the best Video Card for gaming in Win2k

Well.. I just bouth an ASUS GeForce Deluxe, and I'm very satisfied with it's performance. In Quake3 I get about 70-90 FPS in 1152x864x32 (with everything at high quality). I've got a PII 400, 128 RAM and Win2K Final with the nVIDIA's 3.75 reference drivers. So if you buy a GeForce or GeForce DDR, you definately get the best card on the market right now. ------------------ //Albin Rangefelt (aka Lord Avalance) - albin@torget.se
  2. I still don't see the point... What about all those people who posts questions about hardware-problems with Win2K Final here at the forum? You think all of them somehow are members of MSDN or whatever it’s called and can acquire it LEGALLY...? Neither do I... So what's the difference?

Voodoo2, refresh stuck at 60 Hz

It's possible if you use RegEdit and modify it yourself.... But don't do this unless you've used RegEdit before, and know what you're doing. In regedit go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\3dfx Interactive\Voodoo2\D3D and set the: "SSTV2_REFRESH_XXXxXXX" keys to the refreshrate you want. Make sure that you're monitor can handle it first though! Or you might damage it (although it's unlikely). All monitors should be able to handle 85 Hz, so set it to 85 if you're unsure... Then go to this folder and repeat: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\3dfx Interactive\Voodoo2\Glide All done!! You don't even need to restart the computer! ------------------ //Albin Rangefelt (aka Lord Avalance) - albin@torget.se

    Avermedia TV-Phone98...?

Has anyone found any working Win2K drivers for AverMedia TV-Phone98..? The NT4 Drivers doesn't work anyway... ------------------ //Albin Rangefelt (aka Lord Avalance) - albin@torget.se
  6. The topic should have been: 3.69 drivers are VERY unstable.... Direct3D and AGP are enabled, but no games work with the 3.69 drivers! RolCage just exits, and Unreal Tournament resets the computer... Have anyone else noticed this..? I'm using ASUS GeForce Deluxe. Btw: Where did you guys find these drivers..? They weren't on nVIDIA's homepage... ------------------ //Albin Rangefelt (aka Lord Avalance) - albin@torget.se [This message has been edited by Avalance (edited 18 January 2000).]

    W2K / TNT / Detonator 3.69 - no AGP (DxDiag)

What version is BUILD 2167?? From what I've heard the 3.69 drivers only work with RC3 and FINAL, not RC2.... Anyway, you're not missing much, since the drivers lock up every game I've tried so far... ------------------ //Albin Rangefelt (aka Lord Avalance) - albin@torget.se

    Overheated GeForce card..?

Might be the wrong place to ask this... But anyway, I've got a ASUS GeForce, and according to the Display Doctor program I got with the card, it's about 70 degrees Celsius when I'm in Windows 98/2000... Note that this is just after I've started the computer, and haven't runned any games... The card's not overclocked. Is this normal..??

Unreal Tourn restarts my computer ?????

That happends to me too!! I'm using Win2K Final, and the 3.69 drivers from nVIDIA... And I'm running UT in D3D mode of course.... This happends in a lot of other games as well... The 3.69 drivers doens't appear to be very stable.. I've got an ASUS GeForce Deluxe by the way... ------------------ //Albin Rangefelt (aka Lord Avalance) - albin@torget.se
