yea, booting from the cd or floppies is a hell of a lot easier, but if you can't, download Smartdrive here: http://users.intrepid.net/~eddie/smartdrv.exe now just put this on a floppy and run it before running winnt.exe.

i am not saying its wrong that you double posted but i am just saying that you didn't really have to post it here in the XP section because most XP users will browse the NT4/Win2k Sections as well because most of the stuff in the 2k forums also applies to WinXP.

i guess you could try X-Setup, it does far more than tweak ui and i like it alot more.

i agree also, get a PSU rated over 300w, and YES, AMD approved.

you gotta think, if you got a hard drive, cdrom, floppy, mobo, AMD cpu, cpu fan, geforce2mx card and other things running off of it, it's gonna drain a 250w-350w PSU kinda quick, the reason it seems like it slows down is because of hard disk/cdrom activity pulling power from the PSU and taking it away from the fan, i had this problem when i only had one 300w PSU, after i added a second 250w one it stopped.

i'm probably wrong, but i don't even think you NEED to install the 4in1's....i haven't and everything runs great.

well 3d will suck too, there's some AGP4x hack you gotta do i think, but i never bothered, i use either the 8.04's or 12.41's, with the 21.81's i got BSOD's with my GeForce2MX when trying to play videos so i reverted back to earlier drivers, i'll wait for the WHQL Det4's.

not that my comment will help your problem, but reinstalling or repairing Win2k would probably fix it, whenever i got a problem that keeps me from using my computer i just normally reinstall anyway, although i haven't had to in over 4 months
