cody, if you're always getting 1.5kbps downloads like you told me then it may be a problem with your modem, a throughput that low would surely make quake 3 lag like hell and disconnect you.

Ok what is the c:\windows\csc directory?
EddiE314 replied to Feral's topic in Customization & Tweaking
my folder options are set for "show all files" and "show protected OS files".....lol, i still don't have that dir. maybe the fact that i have not yet installed build 2600 has something to do with that. -
11 words: YOU REALLY THINK THIS GUY HAS A TWO GIGABYTE SWAP FILE? lol, i was gonna say something about it, but i was too lazy... CUViper: you suck! lol

Need your valued input on an A level project.
EddiE314 replied to Dazultra2000's topic in Slack Space
good for a project, although you have to keep in mind and i'll use this example: I have a rather large A+ Cert. book in excess of 1000 pages, it was very expensive a few years ago, the only thing is...now half of the stuff is so old it reminds me of a 286 sitting out in the woods behind my house. So as a consumer app that would help a person build a PC, it would require a lot of support and quite a few updates once and awhile. other than that, i see no problem with it and i think its a good idea. -
really? i installed XPpro on an Intel i810 mobo with ac97 onboard sound and it worked fine...

and yes, please donate blood, i have a universal O- type and find it sad that the Red Cross will not let me give 2 pints instead of just one, the way i see it, if i pass out or get sick, its a small price to pay for saving someone else's life. http://www.redcross.org/donate/give/

this "Asymetrical Warfare" is cowardous, war must be properly declared and both/all parties must realize that there are rules to war. I hated President Bush before all of this, but now (even though i'm a die-hard democrat) i have faith that he will be able to deal with this matter, we SHOULD not take action until the facts are known. think about it, there has to be people working with the terrorists on the inside, this attack was so well planned that i find it hard to believe that some machine-gun carrying moron(s) could carry out such a task, no citizen of the US (talking about the pilots) would fly a 747/757/767 jet into a building just because his/her life is at risk, i know if i was the pilot i would do everything in my power to stop it and i'm sure the pilots of those passenger jets tried their hardest. These terrorists knew how to fly a plane, how did they get in the country? how did they get on the plane? why didn't the passengers try to stop them? The reports say that they were carrying knives.......This is turning out to be a mystery and it will be very interesting, if not scary, to see everything unfold.

<rant> i watched LIVE as the second passenger plane hit the second tower in New York, it was almost as if I was watching a movie, i could not believe that it actually happened, i realized it was real when i saw the NYPD and FBI yelling and telling people to get back, the Networks didn't even censor out the profanity not even with an interview with a bystander who witnessed the towers' collapse, for some odd reason that small scene on television gave me a reality check and made me realize that it DID happen, and thousands of innocent people DID die. My condolances to anyone who had friends or loved ones who died or are missing in the attack. This was an act of war, plain and simple. Retaliation may or may not be the thing to do, but if the proper actions are not taken then it will happen again and again and again. This attack hurts America in many ways, including, emotionally and financially. Its scary to know that something like this COULD happen, but when it does....its absolutly horrifying. I live about 90miles from Washinton DC, sure it scares me, it doesn't so much as p1ss me off, it makes me ask the question: "Why hurt innocent and unarmed people?", the people behind this are cowards, this attack was well planned but be warned, I think i speak for all American people when i say "You won't get away with it, at least not alive". </rant>

thanks, i have a long road ahead of me, i just hope i have the strength to go down it. I'd just like to say that if anyone else suspects that there is something wrong in there lives, don't be afraid to go and get help, no one can help you take the first step towards recovery but yourself, it takes a lot of courage to admit that you have problems and it's not something to be ashamed of. Wish me luck and thanks for your support.

"The page cannot be displayed" 00:16hrs - Reconnected to ISP 00:16hrs - Disconnected. Redialed number, got error. Good ol' 56k. 00:17hrs - Redialed number. Connected. 00:39hrs - Downloading new version of NVMax, getting a nice 2.16kbps downstream. ROFL 00:46hrs - While waiting for the download to complete, i played with an old ps/2 mouse. 00:55hrs - Downloading music off of Morpheus, getting a 6.82kbps downstream now. -------- the log pretty much repeats itself, its like this every night almost.

usually i download ISO's that are in the area of 450-700MB, i use ftp voyager, when i get disconnected it reconnects and resumes the download, aside from people having to use the phone also, it's a b1tch to get anything downloaded.
