have you installed the VIA 4 in 1 drivers? (make sure you run the setup in win2k compatibility mode). Also, search for registry tweaks for forcing DMA.
-
try the 12.41 WHQL Win2k drivers, they work great here.

much like the Select version of Windows 2000 in which you didn't have to enter a cd key. let's hope when the RTM gets here someone will get their hands on a similar "Select/Corporate" version and leak it to the rest of us.

i searched through all Security Policies and the registry using X-Setup and Tweak XP, i haven't had any luck so far, i've seen some options in XP that lets you choose what happens when yuou hit the Power Button, i'm guessing you already tried that. The only thing i can tell you is the navigate the shutdown menu to shutdown, hibernate, or just wait until someone finds a solution.

why not just do a google search or go to the manufacturer's website, you can't expect people to hand-feed you all the time. --------------------------------- How to search for Blue Shift on Google.com. 1. Go to http://www.google.com 2. Type in "Blue Shift" (with quotes) 3. Then hit "Enter" on your keyboard. 4. Pick a relevant Site.

the app/game is hanging because the cdrom has to have time to spin back up to read more data off of it, for watching cdrom streamed videos, go into the video player's options menu and increase the buffer size.

an easier way is to open sysoc.inf with Notpad, go to Edit > Replace... Fill in the first text box with "hide" (without quotes) and leave the other blank, then click replace all, save and then it'll work. Just a little shortcut.

well, i'm a good one.

Hmmm, well, i tried doing what you are doing and it does the same thing for me, i'm guessing it's a safty measure (if ya wanna call it that). Try checking in the Local Security Policy or use X-Setup and look for this particular setting, i don't blame you for not wanting to search the registry. For now though you may have to spare the extra time to navigate the start menu to shutdown your computer. I'll look around a little tonight and get back to you tomorrow.

well, you can try disabling the pagefile. if you have problems, then set it to 100min, 100max. that should work fine.

i'm getting 6830, i got somewhere in the 4000's in win2k.

ok, try checking all checkboxes that you may have unchecked, then uncheck the one by one if it works. More info could be helpful.
